"Marinette doesn't care about Adrien" NO. YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS. THIS WHOLE MESS IS HAPPENING MAINLY BECAUSE SHE CARES SO MUCH. SHE CARES DEEPLY ABOUT HIM. SHE CAN'T BRING HERSELF TO TELL HIM THE TRUTH BECAUSE SHE'S TERRIFIED IT COULD RUIN HIM FOREVER. LET'S BE SERIOUS FOR ONCE TELLING THE TRUTH WAS NEVER EASY, that DOES NOT mean what she did was okay: 1. lying to him (i'm so tired of having to repeat this, SERIOUSLY) 2. actively gaslighting him 3. manipulating the reality around him 4. breaking up with him using even more lies 5. continuing to run away from the main problem but that doesn't mean Marinette is a monster or that she doesn't deserve empathy. my god, that girl can't even look him in the face WITHOUT CRYING or feeling guilty. the fuckkkk. are we even watching the same show or are you just closing your eyes and imagining things that aren't there? Marinette's actions are not okay, they're not fair to Adrien, and they're hurting him. We can be angry about that, yes. I'm angry with her for that. But also, take a moment to consider everything this girl has been through up until now. Her experiences DON'T JUSTIFY her actions, they EXPLAIN them. #MLBS7Spoilers

Yeah, I know Marinette is suffering too, but that doesn't change the fact that the way she broke up with Adrien was cruel... Btw, she was being cornered. She can't tell him the truth about his father, so the most obvious solution (though not necessarily the easiest one) is to keep lying. That's it. Lying has become her only defense. She can't even be honest with herself anymore because, deep down, she probably knows that breaking up with Adrien, telling him that she doesn't love him anymore, is a mistake. But her vision is clouded by a dark tunnel right now. The thing is, we as viewers can come up with a thousand different solutions, but it doesn't work the same way for the characters who are actually living through the story. Oh boy, I genuinely feel bad for both of them. I don't agree with labeling Marinette as cruel for this because she's literally willing to break herself apart, believing that her decision will make Adrien happy someday, but all she's doing is destroying them both.
