Detectives obtained a m*rder warrant. They arrested Gurinder on October 14 and booked him into the Sacramento County Main Jail. This shows you just how screwed up California is. ⠀ Laura Lee Yourex of Costa Mesa registered her boxer Maya Jean as a voter in May 2020 and cast mail-in ballots in the dog’s name. The 2021 gubernatorial recall ballot was counted. The 2022 primary ballot was rejected. ⠀ Yourex posted a photo of Maya wearing an “I voted” sticker next to a ballot. She later posted Maya’s dog tag with another ballot and wrote “Maya is still getting her ballot,” even after the dog had died. She self-reported the scheme to the Orange County Registrar of Voters. ⠀ Prosecutors charged her with five felonies in 2025. She pleaded guilty in April 2026 to one misdemeanor count of knowingly registering a nonexistent person to vote. The case was dismissed after she paid $1,500 for four billboards along the 55 and 22 freeways. ⠀ The billboards use Yourex’s photo of Maya and read “Don’t be a dog. Voter fraud is a crime. If you can’t legally vote, don’t vote. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office will prosecute.” They will stay up through November 3. ⠀ Her attorney said she intended to expose flaws in California’s voter registration system by showing a dog could be registered. Investigators say the girl was 13 when she became pregnant. ⠀ DHS says ICE removed him on Jan. 22, 2008, after a Quincy, Florida arrest, then removed him again after Border Patrol caught him near San Ysidro on June 18, 2016. On July 11, 2023, ICE lodged a detainer with the Hidalgo County, Texas, sheriff after a DUI arrest. That detainer was not honored. ⠀ His record, per DHS, already listed battery, domestic violence, and aggravated as$ault. Warrants now name him for incest, lewd acts with a child under 14, and concealing the girl. ⠀ Sheriff’s investigators classified Baby Angelita’s de*th as a hom*cide after finding traumatic injury. A judge issued a Ramey m*rder warrant for the teen. Harris County is handing out $305,000 salaries while the treasurer faces a DWI charge and the county stares at a massive shortfall. Treasurer Carla Wyatt demanded her pay jump from roughly $140,000 to $305,000, saying she would not be “disrespected.” A citizen committee rejected the full request and recommended only a 30% raise. At the same time, Commissioners Court has advanced $305,000 pay for most other countywide elected officials, including all eight constables, the county attorney, district attorney, and several clerks. Those raises are written into the proposed budget. Wyatt is currently facing a DWI charge out of Galveston County from a May arrest in which she was found asleep in a vehicle on the highway. She previously had ANOTHER DWI case that was dismissed after a diversion program, plus a BURGLARY charge that a grand jury declined to indict. While dealing with those legal issues, she is pushing for more than double her current salary as the county faces a budget gap reported between $130 million and $181 million and discusses higher property taxes on residents. Taxpayers get no direct vote. The same officials who approved the higher pay package will finalize the budget. One office is being discussed for possible elimination while others lock in six-figure raises. When elected officials raise their own compensation during a shortfall, while one of them is actively fighting criminal charges, it stops looking like normal government.
