Know the face - he avoided prison, even though the cruelty was so severe.
A defenceless puppy was left with severe head and facial injuries, a fractured rib and ligature marks after his mouth was tied shut.
Council officers discovered the injured pup hidden in a bedroom, wrapped in a urine-soaked blanket.
Smith failed to attend court, resulting in a warrant being issued.
Despite the judge indicating the cruelty warranted immediate custody, he received suspended prison sentences, 200 hours of unpaid work, a £450 fine and a 10-year ban on keeping animals.
Thankfully, the puppy recovered and has since been rehomed.
An animal suffered horrific injuries, yet its abuser avoided immediate prison.

🚨 ANIMAL CRUELTY CONVICTION - LEWIS ORCHARD, SOMERSET
Lewis Orchard, 22, from Norton Fitzwarren, has been convicted after attempting to set fire to an American Bulldog using a spray can and lighter.
Thankfully, the dog survived.
Orchard received a 10-year ban on keeping animals, alongside a community order, probation, fines and costs.
Serious questions remain about the circumstances of this disturbing incident and the limited information released.

They look like a biker gang, yet instead of seeking trouble, they pursue people who harm animals.

A Scottish mother-of-two involved jailed for more than two years back in 2025.
Natalie Herron, 39, from Airdrie in North Lanarkshire, joined online chat groups which encouraged torture of macaques by offenders based in Indonesia.
Investigators discovered 4,000 messages on a WhatsApp group which had been sent by Herron discussing torture and hatred of the animals.
Messages included one that said: “I am shocked how easily the drill went through the skull, it was like butter.”
Another message read: “Trying to find a video where they will kill the mum and the babies watch.”
The acts of cruelty included crucifixion, machete attacks and one video that showed a baby monkey being dipped in boiling oil.

I want you to imagine yourself as this pig, who I named Nellie. Nellie woke up in an unremarkable building in Iowa and was transferred into an unremarkable truck with dozens of her fellow pigs. They were then driven over 24 hours straight from Iowa (in the middle of the USA) to a slaughterhouse in Los Angeles, all with NO food and NO water. That's where I met her when I attended a vigil w/ LA Animal Save. I made eye contact with Nellie for 60 seconds before the truck pulled away, entered the slaughterhouse, and Nellie was slaughtered to become bacon or ham or pork. 💔
It's too late for Nellie, but not for the many pigs and other farm animals who you can prevent from sharing their fate. Through your food choices but also by sharing stories just like hers to humanize these poor, innocent creatures who were simply unlucky enough to be born as the animals we raise and kill just to needlessly consume. 🧡
