This is one of the most powerful books I’ve read in a long time. Wild and sure, tender and unflinching. Eliza so perfectly captures the feeling of flailing inadequacy as a parent of teenagers, and the sometimes-harsh wrench of your own calling.
Of the strength and pain of being fourteen or seventeen and having to fend for yourself and find your own way, and the exquisite moments of discovery. Of deep, grounded, ancient magic, and of the small cuts that leave deep scars.
So pleased to have work in this absolutely knock-out issue of Marvels & Tales. I mean, look at these chapters. Congratulations @DrMichelleSmith and @emmawhatman!
