Met, and interviewed, a lot of world leaders in my time. Few have impressed me more than President Zelensky. He’s a man of great courage, resilience, and determination, and deserves the support of everyone who cares about defying dictators. @ZelenskyyUa

It’s time for governments to stop putting their fingers in their ears and pretending this can all go away, or pretend it will be someone else’s problem. We need to fix social care now, and I really hope, Andy Burnham will do, just that. If he does, he will have our full support.
If he means it - I’ll work with him to get it done.

Throwback to when diplomacy & multilateralism were still considered the way to go: 11 years ago, in these exact hours, we were finalising the decisive last negotiations in Vienna, delivering the only effective & verified agreement on #Iran nuclear program ever reached #Jcpoa

🇬🇧 🇪🇺 Nick Clegg on Brexit “One of the tragedies of Brexit - we voted to go it alone almost exactly at the point in history when going it alone makes less sense than ever, as the world has become dominated by rivalry between US 🇺🇸 and China 🇨🇳 “We are poorer, weaker, less safe, and, here’s the great irony, less sovereign.” “The promise that Brexit would allow us to take back control has instead left us with less control over our destiny than, I would argue, at any time in the last several centuries.”

🇬🇧 Nick Clegg pinpoints tangible British exception: “No other country has punched itself in the face quite so forcefully over the last 10 to 20 years.” Britain suffered the 2008 financial crisis like everyone else, then chose to give ourselves another major economic shock through Brexit. That’s why “Project Fear” now looks much closer to “Project Reality.”

😡 ✅ I share Nick Clegg’s anger about Brexit: “I’m angry because I know that many of the people who propagated that lie were smart enough to know it wasn’t true. Forget the £350 million on the side of the bus. The fundamental assertion was that you would have more control over your own fate by leaving the European Union. 🤥 All of those things are lies. We deal with all of those issues better by working with others.” Geography hasn’t changed. We will always be next to France, Belgium and the Netherlands … not Connecticut.

The reason why the UK is on its arse is not because of Keir Starmer. A big reason is that too many people believed some bollocks on a bus 10 years ago.

Excellent news. As we had called for, the agreement allowing the UK to rejoin #Erasmus+ from 2027 is now in place. A concrete step to rebuild people-to-people ties. Congratulations to @NickTorfaen and @MarosSefcovic. Political will delivers results!

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp chose to side with Trump over the BBC today. True patriots should be united in standing up for Britain against Trump's bullying.

BBC Bias is often in the eye of the beholder So let’s stick to measurable facts During 10 yrs of debate about Brexit, BBC QuestionTime had Britain’s Members of the European Parliament on the show 50 times Every single one was from the pro Brexit minority 23 times Farage

“A century ago, Britain was the centre of the world. Now it is a midsize economy excluded from the world’s 3 biggest trading blocs” “In total, the deal with Brussels will add only 0.2% to Britain’s GDP – compared to the 4% lost from Brexit.” ejinsight.com/eji/article/id…

The message to Trump from Putin when he spoke in Murmansk was pretty clear: You take Greenland. I take Ukraine. And then we continue as the best of friends.
