These clickbait pieces make me realise that there is no meaningful scientific temper in this country since such intellectually depravity can be put out to justify Sharjeel’s illegal incarceration.
Do you recall the 1953 interview of Babasaheb where he denounces neolib democracy
1/5 Sharjeel Imam has given an interview detailing his Islamist manifesto. Surprisingly, no storm has been kicked up over pronouncements that are so unapologetically anti-liberal, anti-secular, anti-democracy, anti-Constitution—in a word, anti-national.
2/5 He openly calls the Constitution fascist, labels secularism a trap, and denounces democracy as a contrivance to deny Muslims their political rights.
3/5 The piece is a litany of indictments against the liberal class. Imam rejects any difference between liberals and Hindutvadis. In his essentialist worldview, all Hindus are the same, unanimous in denying Muslims political power they claim as a divine right.
4/5 Inadvertently, Sharjeel has recognised something that liberals have been fighting shy of acknowledging: that Hindutva’s idea of India is anchored in the same “overarching nationalist framework”— that Muslims are Indians above all else.
5/5 For more, read this Opinion article by Ibn Khaldun Bharati, who looks at Islam from an Indian perspective:
Sharjeel Imam’s Islamist manifesto will be forgotten. The silence of liberals will not

Once again, Israel’s apartheid system is turning the olive harvest into a season of horror for Palestinian families across the occupied West Bank. State-driven attacks by settlers on farmers that damage, destroy and steal crops, combined with Israeli military restrictions on access to groves, are causing immense suffering and economic loss for Palestinians.

If you turned your back on irony, it curdled into sarcasm. And what good was it then? Sarcasm was irony which had lost its soul.

Very good spell lashing now parts of Chennai, this will followed by Sun-Rain-Sun-Rain-Sun pattern in day time. Perfect Monsoon type rains when weak circulation / trough is there.
Overall 5 tmc will be crossed tomorrow for Chennai lakes. If we can end at 6 tmc at end of October 25, it would be nice. Next 2-3 days should help inflow increase.

Chennai – Rainy Welcome for Those Returning from Holidays. Very good spell starting in North Chennai now should cover other parts of Chennai too.
======================
Monsoon activity is picking up over Chennai (KTCC) from today. Expect sudden, short and intense spells of rain during the daytime, followed by sunny breaks. Rain intensity is likely to increase from evening into the night and continue through the early morning hours.
Overall, the Northeast Monsoon remains active over Tamil Nadu. A detailed update covering the rest of Tamil Nadu will be posted separately.
