Essential Logic (Lora Logic, X-Ray Spex) - "Shabby Abbott". (1979). After leaving X-Ray Spex, she formed Essential Logic. Saxophone + bizarre and charismatic vocals, more experimental/post-punk. "Aerosol Burns" is a gem.

Whoops! 😅 I’ve been so busy preparing for the God Save the Queens 👑 and Mekons gigs that the 31st Birthday (September 30) of the X-Ray Spex sophomore album ‘Conscious Consumer’ 🧠 🛒 totally fell off my radar… 🎯
.
Which is ironic as Paul Dean 🎸 and I 🎷 were reminiscing…
… about the making of this gem 💎 at the Rough Trade East ‘In Conversation’ back in May 🏬 and our surprise that the album hasn’t found a bigger following over the years 🤔
.
My personal favourite from the album is ‘Cigarettes’ with its pumping drive and punky satire 🚬…
… What’s yours? 🩷💜 Thank you @punkncoffee 🧷 ☕️ for the Birthday reminder. Here’s to another 31! 🎈✨
