berhalter and raines really struggled on the ball today. we were not able to progress the ball at all in the second half and although some blame should be put on trusty and Campbell who were lackluster on the ball, Berhalter did not provide an option enough in the build up
freeman was the MOTM, his 1v1 defending was great, on the ball even better.
no one else really stood out, we could not keep the ball the entire second half, our midfielders were not good enough.

freeman has been outstanding, defensively he has shut down shaffelburg and on the ball he hasn’t put a foot wrong, his press resistance is great.
I think it’ll be a back 4 but the back 3 is still in play. I would have given Gio a rest this match but with a lack of true 10s it makes sense. I would have liked to see Gozo, Pierre and Mehmeti start but I imagine Poch sees this as a must win game.

I hope this camp makes people understand why Gio Reyna gets called up. Simply put his level of final ball and ability to create is something that very few in the team have. His understanding of space and technical security helps us build out when our DMs struggle.
