The other day at practice, I had an Ersery observation, and what I saw from him regarding his development was that he had problems with WAJ because WAJ is straight to the point when he attacks a pass blocker. Not a lot of finesse to him when he decides to just “shut down practice” as Rankins put it. Same with Clowney(who I refer to as Houston’s first WAJ)
Compared to Hunter, when he uses his finesse moves, it can give Ersery an additional split second to get into his blocking set.
Getting into his pass blocking set quicker is the next phase in his development. I think he’ll be fine, and you hope iron is truly sharpening iron but Houston takes on some damn good EDGE rushers this year and wants to be a better run team. They’ll need him at his best.

A resounding yes! Texans only had two good rushing games last year. Against the Cardinals when Jawhar Jordan rushed for 101 yards on 15 carries. Which was their only 100-yard rusher on the season. And Woody Marks vs. Pittsburgh in the playoffs. 19 carries, 112 yards and 1 TD.

Ravens are an interesting team. Derrick Henry is still a superstar running back. Getting 300+ carries in consecutive years at that age is remarkable actually. But they just lost one of the best head coaches in the league. The Texans defense will swarm that Ravens offense as well.
