I'm keeping this account because it's the primary social media for some close family members, but I am gradually unfollowing almost everyone. You can find me under the same handle where blue butterflies roam.

Having done some beetle wing and gold thread embroidery myself, it's neither quick nor easy to create these pieces.

On this day in 1863, The Battle of Gettysburg began. There are five known manuscript copies of the Gettysburg Address, which President Abraham Lincoln delivered 4.5 months after the battle took place. The Library of Congress has two of those, including this one. 🧵

I'm reminded annually that on April 19 2013 I saw a conf presentation about extending platform & emulation as a service models for working w web archives/disk images, w slides proposing that we need Dr. Who with TARDIS metaphors for tools needed. I still have no idea who this was
If anyone can identify this, I'd love to see this slide deck again.

How are you celebrating #NationalParkWeek? @YellowstoneNPS was the first national park–and @USNatArchives is home to photos from the Hayden Survey that explored the region, as well as the act that created the park. Learn more: unwritten-record.blogs.archi… @NatlParkService
I'm interested in this new museum's collections, but also amused that it's housed in a former Sears where I used to shop. I bought Craftsman tools there, and I bought my first serger sewing machine there in 1984. I have no thoughts on hauntings.
As a DPC Board member, I am very excited about this!
BIG NEWS: The #DPC is extending its global presence...to the USA!🇺🇸
This means we can offer our work to existing+new members in the Americas whilst collaborating with the fabulous #digipres community in the region, for the benefit of DPC members worldwide! bit.ly/dpc-usa

“Sargent and Fashion” at the @Tate tonight. A joyful, engaging show combining two of my favourite things — John Singer Sargent and historical dress. Do not listen to the curséd Guardian article. The show is an utter delight and I can’t wait to go again!
