New @rearrangedpodcast episode! Alex Armbruster on their arrangements for Baltimore brass ensemble Top/Bottom/Switch. Lots of good stuff about making and teaching music, the nature of a song, and whether or not Sabbath really *needs* Ozzy. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

Rearranged Season 2 is out April 21! In Episode 2, out April 28, Georgia Anne Muldrow talks about a way of composing and performing that's more about connection than what's on paper. Muldrow appears on Electrical Field of Love, the new Harriet Tubman album from Pi Recordings.

Fed up with reckless drivers in Baltimore? Wait till you see, in this investigative piece with excellent data graphics by Adam Marton, how little accountability they face even when they hit someone. My first for @baltimoremag. baltimoremagazine.com/sectio…

See the creativity Northeast Baltimore has to offer! The HART Festival takes over Hamilton venues (indoors, safe from rain!) along Harford Rd. all weekend. My band Glad Pulses closes the festival at Micky's Joint on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. (as does Dr. Sketchy's at Emma's Tea Spot).

The U.S. Naval Academy has removed nearly 400 books from its library after being told by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s office to review and get rid of ones that promote diversity, equity and inclusion, U.S officials said Tuesday. stripes.com/theaters/us/2025…

The final Rearranged episode: I discover *why* some favorite arrangements became so close to me and how the art of removing sound is as important to arranging as the art of adding it. Plus an answer to the big question: What is a song? llanahan.wixsite.com/rearran…

Beautiful.
🧵Bobby Hutcherson: " I’m rehearsing with Eric at his loft — myself, Tony Williams, Richard Davis and a trumpet player named Eddie Armour. We were rehearsing for about an hour and a half. It was a cold winter day.

This is too good. Musk is wasting people’s time with a fraudulent explanation based on an abuse of the very notion of reading comprehension. The guy who posts in all caps in your neighborhood’s NextDoor: he now rules us all.
This is why I don't trust DOGE to do competent audits: Some shitty OSINT account misreads a contract that's about defending against stuff like phishing, and Musk just retweets it. The contract may well be a boondoggle! But to make that case, you need to do the fucking work.

Then there are some questionable quotes from Cicero. Maybe they were lost in translation, or from him speaking from the grave: his birth and death dates are given as 106 BC to 43 AD — meaning he lived nearly 150 years.
