Going to the cinema is so good for my mental health. It takes me out of my head and can alter my mood and just reminds me that life is wonderful, because what can be better than sitting in the dark watching an amazing film on a beautiful big screen? 🥰

I’m moving rapidly on from LFF and starting the Billy Wilder season at @BFI tonight, with a screening of Sunset Boulevard (1950). I’ve actually never seen it, so I’m happy I can finally tick it off the list.

The last two films I saw for LFF had subtitles, and there was someone’s head in the way for both of them. It’s extremely annoying and other than sitting in the front row (or banning tall men lol) I’m not sure what the answer is.

I had a wonderful time at #LFF. This year was one of my favourites. I saw some brilliant films and had an amazing time with my friends. I feel very lucky. My top two films were Wildwood and La Bola Negra ❤️ My other favourites were Wild Horse Nine and Elsinore.

My second film for the day is It Will Happen Tonight, in the lovely NFT1 at BFI. I’m happy to watch a film that isn’t about the destruction of the world by tech sociopaths #LFF

Gonna go for a walk and pretend I didn’t see this
every person on filmtwt has that one movie that they make their entire personality and is the framework for their entire account

I don't care if you like Sally Rooney's books or not. This is about the UK effectively banning an author's work because she is vocal in her support for the Palestinian people. I don't care whether you personally like her. Nor should you. It's about censorship. It's unhinged.

Whenever I see a long list of production companies at the start of a film I think wow, they put a lot of effort in to get this film off the ground. It’s commendable.
One of my biggest pet peeves at film festivals is audiences audibly sighing or complaining when a film opens with a long list of production companies. If anyone should understand how difficult it is to get independent films made, it’s a festival audience. Show some awareness #LFF

Black Church Bay was very good. While it took a little bit to get going, once it was into the swing of the story it really kept me on my toes. The central performances were great and I found it compelling. Definitely worth a watch #LFF

Behemoth! is an unusual film. I think it will be quite divisive and narratively it has some issues. I still enjoyed it though. I loved the music and the way it thread its way through the film. Pedro Pascal was also great (wish they made more of Olivia Wilde, who was fab) #LFF

Ink was absolutely riveting. Jack O’Connell and Guy Pearce are at the top of their game, with excellent support from Claire Foy. It’s fast-paced and really funny in parts, but also quite dark. The lack of ethics on display is not unexpected, but the escalation is fascinating #LFF

“Schitt’s Creek” star Dan Levy is calling out Shane Gillis' #SNL monologue. "I’m speechless that something like that can exist on live national television. And to be perfectly honest, more men need to be standing up in opposition to it because it’s complacency that has created the environment in which women are sexually assaulted and it’s a ‘conversation’ as opposed to a ‘crime.'" variety.com/2026/tv/news/dan…
