Direct Democracy in New Zealand
We believe strengthening the Bill of Rights and working toward a constitutional change to Direct Democracy. It is the only way to get the power back where it belongs, with the people. Choose wisely on November 7 to instigate that change. Party Vote NZ Outdoors & Freedom (Authorised by T Livingston - [email protected])

Some personal insight from my direct experience: @liz_dotcom is a truly good, accomplished human, a loyal wife, a great mother & a wonderful step-mother to Kim's kids. I love her & I trust her. Electing her would be a great step forward for New Zealand. xitter.cf/freedomdotkiwi/status/…
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Friday 18th September, 2026 Liz Dotcom to Contest Kaipara ki Mahurangi for Freedom, Backing Direct Democracy AUCKLAND, NZ — Liz Dotcom, a qualified legal professional, business degree holder, and mother, has officially announced her candidacy for the Freedom Party (Outdoors & Freedom) . Grounded in a commitment to restoring power to local communities, Liz is launching a campaign focused on establishing direct democracy and ensuring ordinary New Zealanders have the ultimate say in the decisions shaping their lives. Admitted to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court, Liz brings an analytical approach to political advocacy. Her dual background in law and business provides her with a deep understanding of the institutional systems, regulatory frameworks, and economic forces that directly impact everyday families across New Zealand. Liz’s push for direct democracy is driven by personal experience. After witnessing firsthand what she describes as systemic injustice and institutional overreach in the high-profile treatment of her husband, she became determined to reform government accountability. "Every New Zealander deserves a genuine, unmediated voice in how our country is run," says Dotcom. "As a mother raising a young child, I want to ensure we build a future where families can thrive under a system that works for the people, not around them. Real change happens when citizens, not central authorities, hold the ultimate authority over their communities and their future." Running on the Freedom Party platform, Liz will focus her campaign on: Direct Democracy Initiatives: Empowering citizens to vote directly on major national and local policy decisions. Institutional Accountability: Utilising legal and structural reform to protect civil liberties and individual rights. Family & Community Thriving: Advocating for economic and social environments that support working families and local communities. Liz will be meeting with voters and hosting community discussions in the coming weeks to outline the Freedom Party’s vision for a more transparent, citizen-led government. About Liz Dotcom Liz Dotcom holds degrees in both Law and Business and is admitted to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. Based in Kaipara Ki Mahurangi New Zealand, she combines extensive legal @training with a commitment to direct democracy, human rights, and political reform. My case is not a routine extradition. Unlawful surveillance and evidence handling, restricted disclosure, extreme delay, serious ill health, a potentially life-ending sentence and different treatment of my co-defendants in New Zealand should be considered. More soon.

The NZ Electoral Commission doesn’t approve our name change to FREEDOM despite having the word FREEDOM in our name. We made an urgent application to the High Court but they say the Electoral Commission has the right to refuse. A sad day for NZ. You’ll get Direct Democracy anyway

They can’t win if they play fair. There is no fairness in this process. They want to punish me. That’s why I have to fight. Even after my stroke.

The media should not promote what hasn’t worked in this country. Kiwis are leaving because our politicians are letting them down. Under National leadership 680,000 Kiwis have left New Zealand since 2000.

The Electoral Commission of New Zealand does not want you to have Direct Democracy? They want to stop our name change to FREEDOM. We made an urgent application to the High Court to give New Zealanders a different choice. So that you can vote yourself out of this mess.
