Sen. Elissa Slotkin says she wants the threat of prosecution to serve as a "deterrence message" that scares young people away from taking jobs in the Trump administration.
The Michigan Democrat made the remarks at a University of Chicago event, saying she wants prospective hires to think, "Lord, that might be buying myself a ton of problems that I don't want, and so let me avoid participating in that."
The comments drew sharp backlash from legal scholars and conservative students alike, with law professor Jonathan Turley saying Slotkin "said the quiet part out loud."

The fact that Susan Rice is comfortable saying this out loud is downright sinister. Threatening to punish anyone who doesn’t fall in line politically is unethical and an abuse of power.
And make no mistake, this isn’t new. Democrats have been playing this game for years. Now they’re just openly bragging about it.
“You’re going to be caught with more than your pants down,” warns Dem power broker Susan Rice about what happens to Trump supporters when Dems take over:
“Whether you’re a law firm, a university, a media entity, big corporation, big tech…there will be an accountability agenda…companies better preserve their documents, they better be ready for subpoenas.”

And so therefore what's the purpose?” 60 Minutes asks Harmeet Dhillon, who heads the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.
“The point is actually the opposite of what you were saying. It's not to sow distrust. The distrust is there,” says Dhillon. “And so all of these kinds of crimes are being prosecuted now for the first time really in volume.”

I realize we’ve severely lowered the standards for elected office, but this guy clearly has no idea what he’s talking about. I can’t imagine how anyone thinks he’s qualified.
