The 2030s are going to be so weird as nanotechnology is developed. It’ll likely be the most profound change humanity has ever experienced… likely even more than AI.

Claude has discovered a previously unknown enzyme system hidden in the DNA of bacteriophages. Beside the enzyme’s gene sits a long array of repeating DNA—a structure that looks somewhat similar to CRISPR. We don’t yet understand what this system does, but only a handful of known systems share its features, and all of them are able to cut, copy, and paste DNA. Historically, the discovery of such programmable systems has helped revolutionize medicine. CRISPR, for instance, is now the foundation of genetic medicines. But it will take much more work to learn what this system does, and whether it can be put to similar use. Read more: anthropic.com/news/claude-di…

Your prediction was conservative. AI will beat all fields by the end of next year or maybe 2028, at the latest.

Internship over, time to go finish my degree. Had a great time at OpenAI. I am now certain 2027 will see the dawn of mathematical superintelligence and it excites me to eventually likely see a typical century’s worth of mathematical progress happen in the span of a few months.

The TERMINATOR PSYOP is fully operational. AI false-flag risk is now HIGH. The playbook is simple: Terrify the public with an AI catastrophe → demand emergency regulation → make compliance impossibly expensive → crush smaller competitors → consolidate advanced AI into a handful of corporations. The ā€œsolutionā€ to dangerous AI becomes centralized control of AI. This could create the most powerful system of surveillance, censorship, and control ever built.

It’s always a message of fear. My entire life. Nuclear winter, killer bees, acid rain, global warming, rebranded climate change, Covid, now AI. Reject the demonic spirit of fear.

this is becoming exactly the nightmare scenario for ai safety. the second ai safety becomes attached to politicians and political tribes, half the country is going to oppose it simply because the other half supports it. democrats start lining up behind slowing down. trump declares the whole thing a hoax and promises america won’t stop. i absolutely fucking hate watching this become partisan.
