Grad school is kinda hard, y’all… …but, like, in the best possible way. 🤓

So it appears I goofed on one of the steps when I set up the Sign in with Apple configuration. Everything *should* be working now—see you in there! (Famous last words…)
If you happen to follow me and use @capoapp, I'd really appreciate it if you signed up and share what's on your mind about the app. I set it up with "Sign in with Apple" exclusively, so it's dead-simple to help get the party started!

It's still a work in progress, but we'd love for you to help us build the all-new Capo Community! community.capoapp.com Share your workflow and learning tips, tell us what you'd like to see us build, and get to know like-minded self-motivated musicians like yourself!

Also, keep your eyes peeled for a discussion coming soon about something that I'm working on in the Feedback category…
Unpopular opinion, but I find female Cardinals much more attractive/interesting than the males. There's more going on with their plumage, for starters. Also, they're tougher to spot (around here) and rarely sit still, so it's extra fun when I catch one in my binoculars.
Take a deep breath, relax your shoulders, admire this bird photo
Ugh. This exact thing happened to me a few months ago, but slightly differently. When I added a new version on App Store Connect, it *randomly deleted screenshots* on me.

…a day later, their suggestion was "just re-upload them!" So I tried again, and—sure enough—everything was fine. It was a major pain in the arse, but I was fortunate to have "slop time" in my schedule for dealing with the App Store's BS.

If I was in Ben's shoes and had to get an emergency fix out, I'd be pretty stressed out to learn that I didn't notice the screenshots got hosed. It's crazy to think this is something I need to double-check every time I create a new version, but here we are. 🙄

I have some personal news to share, now that it's official… I got accepted to grad school (M.Math, CS) at the U of Waterloo, and start classes this May!

On any given year, it's not uncommon for me to be chewing through 2-3 online classes while simultaneously bootstrapping a R&D project and also tackling bugs. Might as well earn some credentials and build a solid network of research pals along the way, right? 😂

A *massive* tip of the hat goes to @functiontelechy, whose research and support have greatly impacted recent work on Capo, and helped to spark this unconventional move. Credit also goes to my advisor who thinks this is a neat idea, and stuck his neck out to help make it happen.

OK, so now we've been "upgraded" to a PCR-confirmed case in the house. As expected, it's going to be a rough ~month around here. No leaving the property, neighbourhood walks, driving for reasons other than testing/doc appointments, etc, etc. 🙃

I forgot to add that we are *super grateful* for the free antigen test kits that came home with our kids over the school break. Used regularly, they should reduce the impact of this in the coming weeks/months.
One of my kids had a positive antigen test this morning, and is running a fever. Rest of us are negative, but we need to wait for a PCR test tomorrow to get confirmation. Regardless, we are on full lockdown here until further notice. No shopping, Christmas, New Year's, etc.

Kid's now masking up at home, has 1st shot (11yo, got it immediately when offered), and is healthy—outcome should be fine. Close-contact friends from the past few days all tested negative so far today, thank goodness. We notified immediately, but it felt *awful*.

I'm only sharing this in hopes of normalizing these kinds of decisions. It's crappy, we aren't happy about it, but would be *gutted* to find out we passed this along to anybody else.
