Heidi Levine, an American photographer for the Washington Post, was beaten by Israeli settlers in the West Bank today while covering an olive harvest by Palestinians. She’s now in a Ramallah hospital. This happens every day on the West Bank. Every single day.
Palestinians attacked, journalists attacked, Israeli & foreign observers attacked. When is the IDF going to start taking this seriously? And where is the US embassy & Trump administration?

Facts known: 50 very fine people on that side, charged & beat the shit out of a woman w a press vest and cameras. They kicked her while she was down maybe 50 times. I can translate the statement below if you don't speak the language. It says: go right ahead.
The Prime Minister’s Office:
The facts surrounding the confrontation near Abu Falah, during which Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine was allegedly assaulted, remain unclear and are under investigation.
Israel unequivocally condemns violence against anyone—Jews, Arabs, Christians or journalists. Those responsible will be held accountable.
But serious questions remain. Reports indicate some 200 Arabs and far-left activists confronted approximately 40 Israeli youths. Footage shows masked individuals on both sides hurling objects, amid reports of fireworks fired at Jewish youths. Other footage appears to show Levine knocked down and immediately helped to her feet by the same unidentified individual.
The investigation must establish the facts, including who initiated the violence.
We will not allow disputed incidents to be exploited to demonize the hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria.
The facts must determine the conclusions. Not the headlines.

In one of our current top reads, @lisang reviews two films that are unsparing in their depiction of Israeli attitudes toward the war: the documentary film “NAZA” and the satirical drama “Yes!”, both by Israeli directors.

"Traitors": Graffiti in Ashdod directly targets Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, directors of "NAZA."
This is part of an ongoing wave of incitement against the directors, spanning politicians, opposition leaders, and senior figures in the Israeli government.

"Palestinians don't have to see NAZA's creators as heroes - but they are allies. Abraham and Szor are dissidents; their films didn't arouse enthusiasm in Israel but rage and anger and an outburst of violence and calls for revoking citizenship and even murder. They are marked as traitors. So whoever tries to present them now as another arm of Israeli 'hasbara' is ignoring reality" @HaninMajadli @haaretzcom
