You know how people have been banging on about us underperforming our underlying stats so far this season. That's one of those games where the underlying and actual stats shift a little bit closer to each other. #Readingfc

Tough one to lose that, simply got to be better and have a plan B on the days plan A dosent work. #Readingfc

Got to be an above average chance of Ward grabbing a goal today with O'connor, Dorset and Bindon all having scored in Wigan in recent years. No matter what though today, nothing less than a win is really good enough (Watch us huff and puff all afternoon now) #Readingfc

Nightmare getting to the ground, but a very very memorable win. We simply don't beat teams like that away from home missing our key players this early in the season. We might finally actually be on our way... #Readingfc

Messed around by the trains, got to the station 4 mins after kick off, mad dash to get in for the 17th minute. Should have just taken a leisurely walk and got in just in time for Lane's goal. #Readingfc

Think I've already used up all the possible bad luck today trying to get to the game - will be a minor miracle if I get there for kick off. Hopefully some good luck will greet us later this afternoon. #Readingfc

"Driver is currently investigating a fault on this service" Incredible how badly this day is going

How much do we recon last season's kit will be getting sold off for after not being reduced all last year? Surely it would have made more sense to reduce it slightly over the course of the last year rather than selling it for a bargain now. #Readingfc
Save the date and join us for an Open Day at the @SC_Leasing Stadium! 💙 Watch the Royals train, grab a bargain at the Kit Man’s Sale, and meet the first team on Tuesday 27 October. 🔗 readingfc.co/openday2026

Any player that's bought in at this level is going to be a bit of a gamble one way or another, so you can't really afford to write anyone off before they come in. Falls on the manager to get the team playing, and the medical staff to keep the players avaliable. #Readingfc

First cup tie against a prem side since Sheffield United in 2020 off the top of my head. Brentford at home on paper is one of our biggest games of the last decade however you want to spin it. #Readingfc

2 goals from long balls up the pitch into the left wing 👀 It dosent work every game, but it is fun seeing the long ball working out from time to time. #Readingfc

Can I copy your homework? Yeah just change it a bit before sending it in. With how creative Macron normally are, the away kit just feels a tad short of the normal standard. #readingfc

62 years of hurt dosent quite have the same ring to it. At least we have the falklands.

Such a simple win for the club that shouldn't have taken this long to release. Surprised it's only £10 a year too, would have still worked if it was more/didn't have the other discounts thrown in. #Readingfc

If that's the quality of the curtain raiser you can already tell these world cup group stages are going to drag. Low quality, low excitement game to kick us off where the post match discussion will all be focused on the ref.

Revolutionary idea, what if you made one of these every game. Could have people selling them around the ground before the game and they could be a souvenir, people would keep hold of them for years. Or maybe I'm just nostalgic for a different era of football. #Readingfc

Probably the last "big game" we've had at the Madjeski, and there's a whole generation of fans that won't remember that season now. When the owners talk about bringing back the good times, this is it, and the football wasn't pretty that season either, but it was fun. #Readingfc
🤩It was another memorable play-off semi final on home turf nine years ago! ⚽️Yann Kermorgant's penalty sent us to Wembley again at the expense of Fulham on this day in 2017!

Miserable pathetic fallacy with how the weather has turned here This lap of appreciation after the game could easily end up in the hall of fame of the worse things we've done over the last decade. #Readingfc

Pereira signing a load of his gloves for kids at the front of the Dolan before the game. Burns and Stickland also down there too signing stuff. Positivity hat on (as the game hasn't kicked off yet), club could still be in a much worse place. #readingfc

Nyambe playing CB when we've got Burns and Stickland on the bench? Or are we going to try another brand new shape? Hopefully the young players get more of a chance today than last week, but that XI dosent give me much hope of that. #Readingfc
