In my latest for @statnews, a custom therapy made for a young girl with a rare genetic disorder hints at the feasibility of individualized medicines.
Thanks @timyu @BradMargus @stopbatten @ToshifumiYokota for speaking with me on the topic!

Excited to release our preprint presenting two-layer DNA seqFISH+ to map over 100,000 genomic loci, beyond the 3660 loci we have previously demonstrated, and revealing subnuclear compartments in neurons and glial cells in the cerebellum.
How do subnuclear compartments relate to gene expression and 3D genome organization in single cells? Our new preprint presents two-layer DNA seqFISH+ imaging method to map over 100,000 genomic loci, 17,856 introns, mRNAs, and antibodies in single cells. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
PD is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after AD. It affects many, including those who research it. Thanks Dr. Greenamyre for sharing your story and contributing to our understanding of the genetic and environmental factors driving PD
