My dude absolutely killed it - Definitely the highest effort out of any of the preparations we saw last night. The cake pops came out perfectly, exactly as he intended, so glad he brought them out!
Replying to @liminal_square
And then I brought them and handed them off to Michael, who's actually a genius for this stuff. Everything he fried all night came out perfectly, and my stupid little brandy-filled cake pops were no exception! Not too sweet, little bit of a booze bite, great texture somehow?
And that's the adventure.
Tagging @bstract_thot and @oysterrbaby who I think were the ones who requested a thread

Soaked in booze, chilled overnight. Then flour, egg wash, crushed corn flakes. The coating took for fucking ever and I don't understand how people do this shit.
It was enough effort that I realized I was gonna be sad if they came out terribly.
Fried jello looked like a very cool option, but nobody's recorded doing it with alcohol and the failure mode is explosive. That left the one thing someone actually did at a state fair: booze-soaked cake.
Cubes of pound cake, dried out in the oven.
The moment I got the invite, I knew that if I brought anything at all, I'd be asking Michael to deep fry a cocktail.
I started researching the prior art. Booze in batter mostly cooks off. Fried ice cream would need dry ice to keep it cold enough with an alcoholic base.
It happened!
So, for context: hospitality wizard @MichaelWDorrill got a deep frier and decided to host a little private state fair, aka "we bring it, he fries it"
I, on the other hand, am the kinda guy who brings drinks to a party.
I'm not sure who all needs to know this, except that the list includes @MichaelWDorrill

I know next to nothing about SlutCon beyond that it cost $3K, had a bunch of track talks, and apparently some attendees struggled with the concept of consent.
So… basically re:Invent?
Going to a regularass club in America with a friend who does not come via tpot. About to Have an Experience.
