🎬 Happy Movie Mondays! Today, I want to recommend an underrated video game adaptation.
Silent Hill (2006) — if you have not seen it and you enjoy the Silent Hill franchise (or you’re just a horror fan), you’ve gotta give this a watch! It’s an actual enjoyable trip through the world of Silent Hill.
What You Get: Silent Hill ⭐️ 7
- A desperate mother (Radha Mitchell) takes her adopted daughter to the abandoned town of Silent Hill after the girl’s nightmares and sleepwalking put her in danger and point toward the town.
- One of the most visually stunning adaptations of Silent Hill ever made: that thick, oppressive fog (actually ash in this case), nightmarish Otherworld transitions, and iconic monster designs (Pyramid Head — yes, this one is unrelated to SH2’s James — the nurses, etc.) that feel pulled right from the games.
- Atmospheric dread done right — eerie sound design, religious cult horror, and a descent into psychological hell that sticks with you. The music is absolutely perfect: Akira Yamaoka’s haunting tracks from the games blend seamlessly with the film’s score, creating an immersive, chilling atmosphere that elevates every scene.
- Solid performances from Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, and Laurie Holden. Even if the script isn’t the best, it works well enough to fully enjoy the ride.
It’s not a 1:1 game adaptation, and that’s okay. It feels more like its own independent Silent Hill story that can stand on its own. The film captures the *feel* of Silent Hill better than most video game movies ever have, including the newest additions. I give it cult classic status for a reason! 🔥
Currently available: Streaming on Tubi + rent/buy options everywhere. Physical releases look great on Blu-ray/4K.
Does anyone agree with this take? What do you guys think of it? Does anyone else also believe the ending sets up a sequel that never happened but was so perfect for it?

Parrying is about timing. So, if you parry incorrectly you get damaged. Attacks can be parried others cannot. It's a developers choice. It makes a deeper combat system when added as an option. By itself is a simple mechanic. It has never meant to be a deep system on its own.

Stability patch for Silent Hill Townfall now available on Steam and Epic!
We have released a patch on PC (Steam + Epic - v1.3.1) that significantly improves stuttering caused by PSO Compilation issues. More improvements coming soon.
Also, we've heard you on struggles with The Weight - gameplay balancing on it's way asap.

I predict Gears of War E-Day will debut on PS5 later rather than not at all.
Gears of War Reloaded on PS5 outsold Xbox in paid copies by nearly 3-to-1, and it sold more on PS than on Steam and Xbox combined. Game Pass definitely doesn’t give people enough incentive to buy games.
Insomniacs Wolverine got a new update to address some bugs and scent trails options for those who don't want them aside the scripted story ones.
Here is the official post
We have just deployed a new hotfix for Marvel’s Wolverine. Our team continues to listen to player feedback.

This is a huge win! Thank you Bungie, you guys are definitely going towards the right direction!
We've been made aware of an issue on the PlayStation store where players could purchase the Deluxe Edition of Marathon at a mitigated price if they added Marathon to their library during the Open Play Week. Purchasing the Deluxe Edition this way does not include the base game, and we've updated the PlayStation Store messaging to clarify.
For those of you that made this purchase before the messaging was posted on the store page, we'll be granting you the base edition of Marathon at no additional cost. This is in addition to the Deluxe Edition content. More info on timing will come soon.
Going forward, please note that if you've downloaded Marathon during the Open Play Week but have not purchased Marathon, purchasing the Deluxe Edition upgrade will only grant you access to the Deluxe Edition content for the duration of the Open Play Week, after which accessing this content will require purchase of the Marathon base edition. The price of the Deluxe Edition upgrade on the PlayStation Store reflects only the Deluxe Edition content add-ons, not the base edition price.
It took them 7 years since the release of FFVIIR to complete the trilogy. The wait is almost over!
