1/13 The Truth We white southerners are a product of our upbringing, a product of what we were taught by our ancestors. That the War of Northern Aggression was a noble conflict, a fight for states rights and self determination, a war to protect our “way of life”. 🧵

#Swarla Halloween Fabulous tribute to Tim Curry. But… before they revealed their costumes, am I the only one who thought, for a split second, they’d be great as Xena & Gabrielle?

Ads scream. Pundits shout. Social media catches fire before breakfast. Meanwhile, the ballot sits there like the one adult in the room. Skip the circus rehearsal. Vote early and let the actual counting do the talking. #VoteEarlyOnNoKings

#ResistanceBlue James Talarico has put Texas in play! He believes we have "an affordability crisis because we have a corruption crisis" and has made this a centerpiece of his campaign. He's also supports universal healthcare and increasing funding for public schools. Elect James Talarico U.S. Senate, Texas

#ResistanceRoots Owen Whitfield was born on this day in 1892 in Jonestown, Miss. He was a preacher, union organizer and civil rights activist who led the 1939 Missouri Sharecropper Roadside Demonstration, maintaining interracial solidarity by shifting the focus from race to class exploitation. /1
Press photo of Owen Whitfield during the 1939 Missouri Sharecropper Roadside Demonstration. Whitfield was a visionary who fused economic justice, labor organizing and civil rights decades before the modern Civil Rights Movement. At a time when the Jim Crow system used racial division to keep wages low and labor weak, Whitfield engineered an unbreakable, multi-racial alliance. By proving that Black and white sharecroppers shared the same economic enemy, he shattered the Southern playbook of “strikebreaking by race.” He also revolutionized the role of the Black church in social movements. Today, Whitfield is remembered not just as a labor leader, but as a brilliant strategist who weaponized the visual power of protest to turn a hidden rural crisis into an unavoidable national reckoning. He established a model for cross-racial coalition building that remains a masterclass in labor organizing.

No cape. No throne. No heroic soundtrack. Just ordinary people showing up and doing the one thing every political power structure eventually has to respect: counting ballots. Twenty days until the audience becomes the boss. #BlueWaveIn20days

Social Security Cost of Living increases (COLA) are tied directly to the inflation rate between July & Sept each year. Seniors’ benefits will increase by 3.6% for 2027 even as inflation continues to grow to 3.7% for Oct & up to at least 3.8% for Nov. Trump has accidentally helped seniors— for the first time ever!#BlueWaveIn20Days #VoteEarlyPlan share.google/yUckTBaDWemnGeh…

A voting plan is gloriously boring: register, research, choose when to vote, then actually do it. No cape, no dramatic soundtrack, no last-minute parking-lot panic. Civic responsibility occasionally looks suspiciously like basic calendar management. #VoteEarlyPlan

#ResistanceBlue Jon Ossoff has been on fire! But he's more than just talk. Even Repubs have endorsed him because he works hard for Georgia, lowering healthcare costs, implementing consumer protections, fighting corruption, and going "above and beyond" for constituents. Re-Elect Jon Ossoff U.S. Senate, Georgia
