Tens of thousands of turkeys being suffocated and terminated by foam 👺A #birdflu infection is a death sentence for all incarcerated animals here. Animals living this close together are the breeding grounds for pandemics. It is unnecessary so we should stop these death camps forever. #EndAnimalExploitation #GoPlantbased #LiveVegan save lives and life on our planet 🙏

Neither Cartier-Bresson, Banksy nor Cold War Steve could have come up with such an image. Absolutely perfect composition and lighting (even the road signs are perfect)! 😍

No, it’s not illegal for a journalist to record a politician at a press availability when the politician invited the press! Classic Andy Harris. We served together in the Maryland State Senate and Congress for two decades — he's an authoritarian through and through, and can be counted on by tyrants all over the world — Trump, Putin, Orban, J6 insurrectionists. How dare he lecture his constituents about the First Amendment when he wanted to cut off all funds to the University of Maryland because he didn’t approve of a movie a student group showed on campus. If you want to support freedom and progress in Maryland and across America, please help out Dan Schwartz, @Schwartz4_MD1st in these final 20 days!

Harris is my congressman. He’s horrible. Does absolutely nothing to help his constituents. Only ever carries water for Trump. You call his office, some kid reads you Fox talking points regardless of the question

Long after The Golden Girls had made her a household name, Bea Arthur continued to live a fiercely private life off-screen. What few people knew—even among her closest colleagues—was that she had quietly been one of the main financial backers of a New York shelter for homeless LGBTQ+ youth. In the early 2000s, when she learned from a friend about the rising number of queer teens being kicked out of their homes, Bea was appalled. “Nobody deserves to be thrown away,” she said in one of her rare public statements on the matter.
She didn’t just write checks. Bea would often visit the shelter unannounced, bringing bags of groceries or handmade scarves in winter. She insisted on no photos, no press. Staff recalled that she would sit and listen to the kids for hours, giving them advice, jokes, or just quiet comfort. One counselor remembered a Christmas Eve when Bea stayed well past midnight, helping wrap donated gifts. “She was the grandma they never had,” one former resident said
After her death in 2009, it was revealed that Bea had left $300,000 in her will to support the shelter, which was renamed in her honor: The Bea Arthur Residence for Homeless LGBTQ+ Youth. In a world that often lauded her for delivering zingers on screen, her most enduring punchline may have been a silent one—providing shelter and dignity to those who needed it most.

Forest soils store an estimated 40% of the world’s terrestrial carbon, but estimates suggest that around 15%–30% of that soil carbon is lost when a forest is harvested.

No way "Solsbury Hill" was released in 1977.
Peter Gabriel had just left Genesis and stepped into a solo career with no guarantee it would work.
Then he released a song that sounds like a man deciding he is going to trust the road ahead anyway.
It took me a couple of decades to discover it, and I have loved it ever since. Crazy how music really is timeless.
A brave song disguised as a happy one.
