Austin promised to "reset" its social-services spending, found tons of compliance problems in their review, and recommended zero cuts.
A Catholic Charities contract to pay immigrants' federal filing fees, even though half its cases don't have a fee. It kept the full $126,720.
A $71,376 mental health contract that served about 4% of the clients it promised. Recommendation was to keep funding it.
A health bus that, two years in, still isn't running. The City has moved its target date six times.
A $349,710 contract with Sickle Cell Texas Marc Thomas Foundation, which the city says inflated its numbers, billed for costs it wasn't allowed to charge, and served people who didn't qualify. Staff proposed cutting it in July but the city extended it at full price anyway.
How did NOTHING get cut? Because every evaluator got the same instruction: if a contractor is underperforming but the "need" is still a real one theoretically, don't recommend a reduction.
In August, the city restored $4.7 million to social services and declared preserving that funding a “policy priority.”
And the city still hasn't released the names of the 26 flagged contracts.
The Audit and Finance Committee gets a briefing on it Wednesday, but nothing is actually up for a vote.

More violence, and more massacres of entire Christian villages and communities.
Islamists in Nigeria charge through a Christian village on motorbikes with AK47s firing on and murdering Christian villagers.
This is a daily occurrence, and yet western media remains silent. Men, women and children are slaughtered, women and children raped and kidnapped, men beheaded. Entire villages wiped out in minutes.
Remind me what occupation they’re fighting against? This is ethnic cleansing and pure hatred against non Muslims. This is what actual genocide looks like.

None of this matters if our government doesn't do anything about it.
We've been hearing about Soros and Singham for years. Until they pull up and Maduro their asses back to a U.S. prison, this bogeyman storytelling should be considered For Entertainment Purposes Only.
Either ANTIFA is a terrorist organization or it isn't. Either the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization or it isn't. Either Soros and Singham are funding terrorism or they aren't. If nobody is doing anything about it, then I guess they aren't. @DHSgov @FBIDirectorKash @SecMullinDHS

“Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president.”
Think about the utter gall of the man behind the Russian collusion hoax, and who, along with his henchmen and hitmen, helped bloom a million poisonous “probes” and persecutions whereby the “full weight of the federal government” was “brought down” on the ENTIRETY OF THE OPPOSING POLITICAL PARTY.
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

The idea that mega billions in social welfare fraud ended up in the hands of ragtag recent immigrants is hilarious. There is no way that the powerful didn't cut themselves in on -- and organize -- one of the greatest orgies of legalized theft in human history.

Every Democrat legislator yesterday demanded American citizens be disarmed because a criminal committed a crime, while today we find out that a senator is saying, out loud, that she wants to prosecute every Republican member of any Republican administration to keep Republicans from participating in government.
These two things are not unrelated…

Totalitarianism has historically come in many flavors: monarchy, dictatorship, fascism, communism, theocracy, etc.
However, the one thing that EVERY totalitarian regime in world history has had in common is the fact that one of their first official acts after achieving power is to outlaw dissent.
I'm not sure how anyone cannot understand what is at stake with the upcoming midterms: liberty or totalitarianism.
Choose.

What exactly does Barack Obama know about what Ilhan Omar’s father represented on immigration documents and its veracity or lack thereof, or about whether Ilhan Omar was actually eligible for automatic naturalization, or about whether investigators/prosecutors are pursuing a million other threads around immigration fraud, marriage fraud, perjury, conspiracy to commit crimes, financial improprieties, ties to foreign actors, or a million other potential issues that have been made to let lie thanks to a protective bubble created by the likes of Barack Obama.
In fact, I have a chapter in my book from six years ago — laying out Ilhan Omar’s alleged corruption, criminality, and collusion with our enemies — in which I explain how Barack Obama enabled Ilhan Omar’s rise.
And too enabled the rise of Mamdani, El-Sayed, and myriad other America-haters and would be America-destroyers.
Perhaps the chickens are coming home to roost. amzn.to/2T93JwH

In the days following Oct 7th, when the streets in the West were taken over by pro Palestinian imbeciles, I warned that while Israel will win the war in Gaza, it's the West that really needs to worry. The streets in the West are West's problem, not Israel's. But some Western capitals chose appeasement, only to discover now that no amounts of appeasement is enough for these radicals. They'll still burn your city to the ground. You kinda brought this upon yourself.

Why did everything get so expensive?
10.8 million border encounters. More people, not more homes. Rent went up. Texas hospitals paid more than $1 billion in one year to care for people here illegally. Classrooms filled up.
Then the border was secured. Rent is coming down. Eggs are back under $2.50.
Secure the border. Lower the cost of living. Vote Republican November 3.

Conspiring with your FBI and intel chiefs to undermine an incoming president with false evidence.
Seriously, lecturing anyone about selectively targeting individuals simply because of their political beliefs.
(In this case you can rest easy. Her political beliefs, like yours, are abhorrent. It’s the falsifying immigration and naturalization records, illegally voting and sitting in Congress, and what looks like massive fraud and corruption that are at issue.)
