Claude Code and I have turned my ancient Kindle into cool family photo frame for my film photos (see pinned post in profile).
To prevent Kindle from downloading the latest update and overwriting its OS, cheeky Claude filled it up with empty files so the updated doesn’t get through.
And now… I have my personal stylish black and white photo frame with family pics

The games we've long wanted, which didn't exist because they'd cost several times more to make than they'd earn back, will soon become possible. As will the games developers wanted to build, but couldn't with the resources available. It'll be a new golden age of gaming.
as a polish person, it's pretty insane to see the narrative flip in the last 10 years...
i was born in poland - at the time it was a country slowly recovering from communism
like millions of other families we were very poor, so we moved to western europe when i was a few years old
for most of my life, to be a polish kid was to be the son of poor migrants - a british person looking up to poland was almost unheard of
in 2020+ the narrative has completely flipped, today somebody moving from poland to the UK is considered an almost unfathomable downgrade
our country has been through a lot - partitions, being the epicenter of both world wars, uprisings, genocide, displacement, communism
it took 30 years of freedom to turn the resilience this has instilled in us + the hunger of being one of the poorer countries in europe, into the country poland is today - a very inspiring success story
the only sad thing about all of this, is that our great grandparents & their parents, the ones who actually endured all of this suffering & fought to make poland what it is today, didn't get to see the country it'd turn into
🇵🇱 Warsaw is Poland's biggest city and it is completely safe at 1am at night
No violent junkies, no drug dealers, no street thugs hanging around harassing women (and men), no pickpockets (nor in the day btw)
No shady people hanging around the train and metro stations
Just people living chill together and police enforcing safety
You know like we used to in Western Europe?
There's a lot to learn from Poland

Did you see what's happening in France? It looks like they're already having a civil war, with hundreds of thousands of people violently destroying and burning down the country.
And it's not just the destruction. It's full-on attempted murder! I saw a video of a masked man aiming a big blowtorch directly at a woman's face, most definitely blinding her!
Allegedly it's all happening because things are getting more expensive while schools and public services are getting worse.
It seems like the government completely lost control or is just standing by, kind of idly watching while total chaos is breaking out and people are losing their homes, businesses and even their lives.
They are spraying some tear gas around, yes, but that's almost comical, ineffective, really pathetic actually. Given what's going on, you'd kind of expect they would be saying something Trump-y like, "anyone still out on the streets by the end of the day will be shot by the military!" But of course, that's not going to happen, this is Europe after all. During Covid the governments were able to wrap a mask around everyone's mouth and force them to stay at home, lol, but when civil war breaks out... well... crickets!
And that's exactly the problem. If so much violence is being allowed to erupt over some rising prices and deteriorating public service, what's going to happen when AI destroys people's incomes and mass poverty breaks out? What's going to happen when the landlords start evicting millions of tenants? Anyone who's been following the trajectory of AI knows deep down that probably this is what's going to happen!
And what really bothers me is all the naivety around UBI (lol), or HBI even (roflmao), especially when it's already crystal clear and obvious that our society's safety systems absolutely don't work!
I mean, there is already a civil war underway in the EU's wannabe AI capital over some relatively small issue like price increases and deteriorating public service. That totally pales in comparison to what AI is going to do to Europe economically in the coming years!
I have absolutely no clue whatsoever what Europe will look like in 5 to 10 years from now, but right now, it looks like everyone's going to be dead or living somewhere else.
@levelsio already got a place in Brazil, and many others who can afford it are leaving. I'm hiding on an island, but I know it depends on the mainland for shipments of food and toilet paper. It's scary as hell!
Wondering how other people in Europe deal with this. Are you building bunkers in your gardens? Are you planning to leave? What are you doing to prepare?
🇧🇷 I told you guys about the South of Brazil!
Do like the Brazilians do and leave organized crime hotspots like Rio and Sao Paulo where rich people have cars with bulletproof glass
Go South Brazil where you can have an actual nice life without fearing for your life
South Brazil is nothing like what you think when you think of Brazil
It's the safest place in Brazil, it's rich and feels a lot like Europe, which makes sense because it literally borders with Argentina and Uruguay
Uruguay is the richest country in South America and South Brazil is the richest part of Brazil
Florianopolis is a great start!

wife: what are you looking at on your phone at dinner
me: just some shit
wife: what kind of shit
me: well we got that rolling tv so i wanted to see if those rolling nurse workstations are purchasable, which they are and also most hospital equipment like vitals monitors so then i was curious like if you set up a home medical wing, what’s the top 10 substances given to patients, but not by volume but like by occurence, and then its injectable saline by like a large margin, and im like can you buy that and it turns out you can’t, totally prescription but not for like great reasons other than people might fuck themselves up administering it, but like how is it made and who makes it and it turns out one company has like 60% market share (of like 3 domestically) and 20% global market share and that’s crazy their proprietary processes and ip are like national security, fabric of society and civilization type shit how crazy is that?

✨✨ Introducing MailCheap.ai ✨✨
Everything you need to run a newsletter...
✍️ Editor

🌐 A website for every issue
🛡️ Deliverability guardrails
🔗 Send from your own domain (and keep your reputation)
And it's not a dinosaur tool:
+ It's open source; you can run it for free
+ It's agentic; everything in the UI is available to your AI
Import from beehiiv, Substack, or Mailchimp in 2 minutes.
You pay for the emails you send, not for dormant subscribers. From $19/month.
Oh, and no "Powered By" badge at the bottom of your emails.
every week someone tells me they’re going to vibe-code their own @beehiiv alternative over the weekend.
wishing them the best, here’s the backlog of things to make sure to include:
> 99.3% email delivery rate (industry-leading)
> team of deliverability experts with decades of experience
> infrastructure to send 3M+ emails per minute
> validating every single email submission (1st and 3rd party)
> automated bot-detection to prevent spam signups
> registering for every mailbox provider’s feedback program
> ingesting data from said feedback loops and building suppression lists
> tagging every email so gmail reports complaint rates per newsletter
> classifying every bounce (hard, soft, mailbox full, DNS failure) and knowing which ones mean “try again” vs. “never again”
> three layers of suppression: global, per-publication, and transactional
> temporary suppressions that expire on their own, and permanent ones that never do
> one-click unsubscribe, the way gmail and yahoo now require it
> warming new IPs and domains on a schedule
> watching blocklists around the clock, and pulling an IP from rotation the moment it’s listed
> retrying deferred mail for 24+ hours before calling it a bounce
> blocking disposable, invalid, and typo’d addresses before they ever reach the list
> rate limiting every signup endpoint a bot can find
> filtering bot clicks out of every report (something we pay an ungodly amount of money for)
> an acquisition source on every subscriber
> engagement history for every reader, across every post
> multiple sender addresses for different emails
> custom domain configuration that is aligned with DKIM, SPF, DMARC
> a true WYSIWYG editor: what you write is what lands in the inbox, with no HTML required
> turning that editor into table-based, inline-styled email HTML that holds up in outlook
> real-time collaborative editing, so the whole team can work on the same issue at once
> dynamic content: different sections for different readers, all in a single send
> separate email and web versions of every post, from one draft
> free and premium versions of the same post, split by a paywall break
> merge tags that personalize every email, and a simulated subscriber to preview them before you send
> templates with saved colors, fonts, and spacing, plus a default style for every post
> columns, tables, buttons, blockquotes, sections, file attachments, and a table of contents with anchor links
> native embeds for X, youtube, tiktok, instagram, bluesky, stocktwits, and podcast episodes
> polls, referral blocks, recommendations, and ad slots, built right into the post
> an AI writer, AI images, and a built-in AI agent one keyboard shortcut away
> images resized and optimized automatically, however they’re uploaded
> a live email-size gauge that warns you before gmail clips your newsletter
> custom HTML blocks, cleaned so a stray script tag can’t break your post
> automatically hiding anything an inbox can’t handle (video, iframes, audio) in the email version, while keeping it on the web
> links and embeds made clickable even in outlook, which ignores links wrapped around tables
> vertical alignment in columns, because a layout that looks off by 4px looks broken to readers
> converting your newsletter to audio versions for readers who prefer to listen
> random cohort sends to randomly split your list to test different content and conversion
> slash commands: type “/” and insert any block without touching a menu
> markdown and keyboard shortcuts for people who never want to touch a mouse
> pasting from google docs with the formatting intact
> search and replace across the whole post
> comment threads right in the draft, so editors and writers stop living in google docs
> footnotes and citations that work in the inbox and on the web
> code blocks, for the technical newsletters
> an AI writer that rewrites, translates, and fixes spelling and grammar in place
> autosave, so a closed tab never costs you a draft
> subject line A/B testing, built into the send flow
> drag-and-drop images, from your computer, your media library, or a URL
> rich-text image captions, plus image titles and alt text for accessibility
> audio files that play inline
> file attachments, so a PDF can ride along with the issue
> sections with their own backgrounds, borders, and spacing
> blockquotes with custom borders, colors, and styles
> content breaks and dividers that render cleanly in every inbox
> a REST API for subscribers, posts, segments, automations, and more
> a send API to create and send newsletters programmatically
> creating, updating, and deleting subscribers in real time
> reading and writing custom fields on any subscriber
> tagging subscribers from your own app
> enrolling subscribers into automations via API
