I sense Shruti is hinting that there’s more
to here than that is reported because of investors protecting the investment
Correct take
Rant that no one asked for:
My general take about consumer AI is that 99% of the things we've seen so far are super far-removed from reality
Most people feel like they don't have money to spend right now, so the use-cases around agents booking flights or trips or booking reservations or shopping just don't appeal to the average American consumer
I would argue that things that consumers purchase or "do" frequently enough (like ordering on Amazon, or calling Ubers, etc.) were obvious/annoying enough/frequent enough use-cases where we built amazing software UI/UX over the last decade that's been optimized to near ultimate efficiency that adding AI or agents on top would actually be making it *less* efficient. Like really *worth-it* use cases are generally "one-clickable" by great consumer products/platforms already
There's a lot of magical moments/wow factors/sci-fi things with agents that come from super annoying workflows (like booking flights or wrangling personal errand stuff in gmail or etc.) but are just not frequent enough for the average person. They're actually the long-tail. For example, 20% of the world's population has flown on an airplane at least once in their lifetime, meaning 80% of people globally have never set foot on a plane. Only 11%-15% of the global population flies in any given year!
This is not me saying that consumer AI is dumb, I'm actually extremely excited and optimistic, but it kind of goes back to things we've always known about consumer, which is:
1. Save/make consumers money
2. Make consumers entertained or famous
(And, of course, vices)
Even like, regardless of your views on prediction markets/sports betting, I think you have to understand that comes from a place of the average person feeling like they 1) don't have enough so 2) they want to do what they can to jump the socioeconomic rungs
Anyway, there's an extremely *wide* space of opportunity and I'm very excited to see the absolutely insane new AI/innovative stuff that builders come up with, but also I really want to see things that aren't just dressed up versions of 2010s prosumer/productivity software (and the problems that came with it)
P.S. The 90/10/1 rule still applies to consumer: most consumers want to *consume* (and lurk) rather than create!

Watching this 1960s dating show has completely fried my brain, what an era..😍😍
I do not know who needs to hear this-- but just like I wrote last year Wabi 1.0 is DOA, Wabi 2.0 is as dead on arrival as Wabi 1.0
Multiplayer Assistants in Consumer AI is no show. It doesn't create any Network Effect.
Adding NPC guy @nikunj as he loves Wabi 2.0-Future Ref

BREAKING: Dallas Country has surpassed 2024 Presidential-year turnout on the first day of early voting in 2026
Well said.
In a democracy, people don't owe allegiance to a political party.
It's the party that needs to prove to ppl why they should vote for them.
It is the responsibility of a political party to earn the support of its coalition, not the responsibility of voters to endlessly court a party that increasingly treats them with contempt. That is one of the most elementary principles of representative democracy.
I spent years involved in Republican politics. I stuck my neck out for this party, bent over backwards defending it, worked on campaigns, and stood by people even when doing so wasn’t particularly easy. I genuinely believed in what I was doing.
I wasn’t pretending to be a conservative, and I certainly wasn’t involved in Republican politics because I had nothing better to do with my time. I gave that movement a great deal of my energy because I believed there was a place for me in it.
And after all of that, I have to sit here and watch people like Bo French insinuate that I’m not an American because of where my family comes from?
If voting according to my conscience makes me a “libtard,” then so be it
I am seriously amazed that how great Steve Jobs was really. Born and brought up in SF, yet had an astute understanding of Consumer.
All these ppl really have zero idea of consumers. Agentic Commerce is a tiny tiny TAM. Because consumers wont use agents to shop
Goes and calls a certain ppl not americans and should be deported.
Those ppl go and vote for a white candidate who doesn't consider them unkindly.
Cries they aren't voting for me.
State of logic of these ppl.
Just as I wrote this list of Predictions end of 2026, 90% of them ended up being true and those left are just waiting for the time to come,
I will say this on record that TownAI won't find PMF outside of Valley.
Even if they claim
Great team though!

It was an obvious choice to double down on @TownAI's series B.
It’s becoming clear that agency will define nearly every digital experience. Software will increasingly understand us, anticipate our needs, and act on our behalf. There’s so much possibility here, and we’re only just discovering what these experiences can become.
What interests me most is what will make some agents indispensable. Technical capability matters enormously, but how it serves the person using it may matter even more. How well does an agent understand the person? How naturally does it communicate and earn trust? And as we give software more agency, how do we make sure people gain more of their own?
That’s a big part of why we believe so much in Town. In witnessing the team execute, their respect for the people they’re building for comes through in both the big ambitions and the small decisions. They’re building an agent that gets to know you, deeply understands your work, collaborates with you to become more capable, and earns the trust to take on more over time. They want to do more than complete tasks. They want the person using Town to be more effective, informed, and in control.
The technical execution is exceptional. This team moves quickly, bringing in new capabilities, choosing the best models and tools for different needs, and improving quality, reliability, and cost. Your Townie can do all the things. Making all of that feel intuitive and useful takes real judgment, especially when the technology keeps changing underneath you.
I admire how closely the two connect. Town becomes more useful as it understands you better. As it demonstrates good judgment and delivers value, you trust it with more. The technology and the relationship improve together.
I expect many extraordinary companies to emerge here, with different ideas about what agents can do and how we’ll interact with them. We’re all still getting our sea legs. I love being on this journey with a team that pushes it forward while thinking so carefully about the people it serves.
Congratulations to the entire Town team on the Series B. We're thrilled to continue building alongside you.
For ppl who don't know, this dude was praising Wabi 1.0 when they launched last year and when I wrote that its dead on arrival.
Now Wabi 1.0 became dead as no one used it-- this dude is saying "It never stuck with me".
Total clown behavior. Zero critical thinking. NPC guy
A few weeks ago, I was ranting about multiplayer AI experiences and that's when @ekuyda shared an early preview of Wabi 2.0..
Truth be told, I was one of the early users of Wabi 1.0 and while the design was gorgeous, it frankly never "stuck" with me.
But, in moments of downloading this edition, I was immediately hooked.
It just gets the "paradigm" right imo. There are two types of personal agents today: 1) Singleplayer iMessage or Muse types - while useful it's hard to compartmentalize them when many things are going on 2) Build your own multiple chat Hermes agents - while that's useful and can share context, they live forever
Wabi has this great paradigm of orchestrator (which is the main agent) and topic specific episodic chats that are for a single purpose. You can share these individual chats with folks (for example the school one with my wife). And these are generated proactively AND don't need to stay forever (which is important).
For example, for my recent NY trip, it was generated based on a flight it saw, provided help where needed, and then after the trip was done, it was archived. Same with my 2025 taxes.
My only critique so far it's TOO proactive, the apps can be better and they need to dial both of those in, but this is a wonderful product that everyone should try!
(I know it's shocking to see this in today's day and age, but this is neither paid, nor an investor, just a fan)

End of 2026 Predictions.
I love some of the ppl behind these, yet, these all WILL happen. 🧵
- @wabi folks will realize they are on path to have their Humane Moment. Beautiful product, will die slow death and fail to get PMF

Replying to @letsbuildmore
- All so called "new agent frameworks" (@dedaluslabs) are beyond dead.
They are only in existence and doing a dead walk, because of insane money thrown by the investors.
Its UBI for its drop out founders for not studying in college

And before any Eastern Europeans come at me in the comments to tell me how we don't have that problem...yes, we don't. First, because we are the ones migrating from our home countries to the West. And second - our economies are not as big nor wealthy as those in the West, not to mention our languages are a bitch to learn. Hence, even if we wanted to have large scale immigration, we can't.

The tragedy of it all is that rioting against inflation and cost of living by destroying stores just increases inflation and cost of living.
Fiscal issues lead to social issues, which lead to more fiscal issues and more social issues.
