Several groups expected to rally outside of Henry McMaster’s office today to oppose his anticipated announcement of a special session this afternoon.
As has been extensively reported, he has already informed members of the House and Senate he fully intends to do so.

📝 Local elected officials are watching folks turn their eyes and attention to everything but them and are confident no one is noticing the harmful policy decisions they’re making that are further eroding our democracy. Your community needs you to get loud.
One of the biggest problems in SC lack of respect, giving a chance & opportunity to those that put themselves on the ballot regardless of the political math or chances of winning. so many are told - they have no shot before they even start.
We had a great conversation today with @IanIankay @ABCNews4 on yesterday’s turnout, South Carolinas voter participation problem, lack of opportunity for voters and what we’re doing to increase participation at the state & local level.
Voter turnout was notably lower in the 2024 statewide primary, but context suggests the numbers aren't as bad as they appear.
