7 days. 17 projects. 22 incredible humans. All in Singapore during @token2049 This one hit different. The kind of week that reminds you why you love what you do. None of it would’ve been possible without this team. People who live and breathe video. And if you’re a Web3 or AI project looking for a video crew that can plan, shoot, edit, and deliver something you’ll actually be proud of… you’re probably watching them right here. 🎥🔥

Bumble just agreed to sell for $1.3 billion. The reason why it is the next billion dollar opportunity…
Today we announced an agreement to acquire Bumble. Over the past six months, we’ve looked at hundreds of companies, asking which businesses would become more valuable as AI advances.  Bumble stood out.  As intelligence becomes more abundant, we believe connecting with the right person and forming meaningful relationships will become even more precious. And frontier technology can help more people find and build those relationships. Our purpose at Ithaca is to apply frontier technology to things that matter. We acquire enduring businesses, transform them with technology, and hold for the long term. We focus on businesses not only for their financial potential but their ability to enrich lives. Whitney and her team have built something extraordinary. Millions of relationships began on Bumble, and we’re honored to help take it into its next era. Together we intend to build the best company in the world for helping people find each other. Let’s get to work.

Day 2 of SF @Techweek_, done. Started at a coffee shop planning the week's work with my team. Ended up getting invited to a creator party. A lot happened in between haha Went to @GoogleStartups. Seeing the scale of Google and everything they're building around their products was amazing. Then spent a couple of hours working from the @supermemory office Went there to get some work done, but ended up getting to see how these guys builds and runs the company. Spent some good time with them. So much fun seeing it all up close. Insane what they are building. Ended the day at the creator party. Met some great folks and learned a lot about how the creator economy works here. Being a creator with 60,000 followers on Instagram and a wider audience gives me my own perspective on the industry. Getting to hear from other creators and see their side of it was so much fun. Writing this as I end my day, not missing sharing Day 2. Day 3 is going to be hectic again haha On to day 3.

Day 1 of SF @Techweek_ , done. Started at the @agi_inc Inc pop up store, packed from the first hour. We were there to work, but I spent half the day watching people put on the AGI glasses and come out surpised that AGI can shop for them. @KhotChaitanya and the AGI team ran the best pop up I've seen. More on what we made together soon. Also today: Met and had so much fun talking about the industry + their stories of building their own companies with @DhravyaShah @imittalishika @shardul_mane, easily a highlight Ran into 5 more people from Mumbai. Got our Mumbai meetup in before GTA 6 haha Talked to a couple of investors about the new model we're launching for @blockwee On to day 2.

Your competitor is not winning because their product is better. They're winning because more people have heard of it. In the AI era anyone can build fast. What took six months now takes weeks. Someone can clone the core of what you built and be in the market beside you before you've finished your launch plan. The product is still a moat. But distribution is becoming just as important a one, and it's the thing a competitor can't copy in a weekend. It's also not one channel. It's five, running together. >In person, through events. >Brand content on your own handles. >People distribution, where your team posts from their own profiles, because people buy from people. >Borrowed distribution, inside communities and podcasts that already hold the attention you want. >And customer distribution, your users on camera describing the problem they had before you. Most teams treat these as stages. Content first, events later, people distribution someday. They only work as a loop. An event puts your customers, your team and your buyers in one room, which is the cheapest footage you'll ever get and the warmest audience you'll ever have. That footage feeds your handles and your team's profiles. Those profiles get you into the next room, in front of a bigger audience than the last. Miss one part and the loop stops turning. The next phase of @blockwee is exactly this: helping tech companies build distribution. We're starting with video because it's what we're best at, and scaling from there. If you're building a tech product, I'd love to sit with you and map out what you could actually be running. Come talk to me.

It’s okay guys, not everyone has to sell their T-shirt or dress sponsorship. There are plenty of other ways to create value as well 😅

3 years ago I sat with my mom and told her I wanted to go to San Francisco and work with the top people in the Valley. She said one day that will happen. You just keep working. She had no reason to say that. I was running a video studio I started at 21 out of Mumbai, with two failed companies behind me and not a single client outside of India. If she had told me to be practical, all the evidence was on her side. Instead she gave me the most boring advice available. Not manifest it. Not believe in yourself. Just keep working. So I kept working. Shoots in Dubai. A team across Singapore, Dubai and India. Clients who took the call because someone vouched for us and also because they had heard of us. I got one thing wrong for most of that stretch. I thought the sentence was about San Francisco, so I kept treating the city like a finish line. Today I'm writing this from San Francisco (my 4th time here), building the next phase of @blockwee from here, in rooms with people whose work I used to study from my bedroom. She never gave me a date that day. She gave me an instruction with no deadline on it, and that turned out to be the more useful thing to have.

a @blockwee competitive advantage: we're 100% laser focused on making the best video content for ambitious tech companies. launches, announcements, product stories, social content. that's all we do. we're not a generalist creative studio distracted by anything else.

this post blew up a bit, and there are a few new people on my account now. shoot me a dm if you're passionate about gtm, growth, marketing or events, and love authentic ideas about content.

this might be a hot take but one of the first people i look for feedback from after a launch isn't just the marketing team. it's also the sales team. they're usually the first to find out whether your messaging works in the real world.

i saw a lot of talk recently on the tl about founder led marketing. and i think a lot of people equate founder led marketing with founders becoming influencers. i couldn't disagree more. it's all about reducing the distance between the people building the product and the people using it. i've been creating content for over 5 years across multiple platforms. the highest performing content almost always comes from someone who has real proximity to the problem. not because they're just better on camera. because they have better stories, opinions, context and conviction. if you're a founder, making content for your company has amazing asymmetrical benefits. one of my favourites when it comes to founder led marketing is @denk_tweets. you can absolutely hire great creators, agencies, editors and marketers. we do that ourselves. but they amplify your thinking. they can't manufacture it. so get infront of the camera and share your story with more people.

i tried a new tool by @dravishakatoch that helps founders figure out which VCs are actually investing in their space. what's nice about it is that it isn't just another database. it looks at real portfolio activity to narrow down investors based on your sector, stage and round size. if you're an early-stage founder raising capital, this can save a lot of time that usually goes into building investor lists. worth trying while it's still in beta.

motion graphics are one of the fastest ways to make technical products feel understandable. > explain what you built > earn trust faster > stand out in crowded feeds > create reusable assets for every marketing touchpoint

ask claude "is this a good idea" it says yes. ask "is this a bad idea" it also says yes (usually). i found a skill called LLM council that fixes this completely. it runs your question through 5 different angles before answering. the council challenges the idea, finds the flaws, and tells you what you're missing and gives you one clear answer at the end instead of mere agreement.
