I’m not sure how many of my friends will remember #Aberfan. I was 11 years old and remember vividly my mum saying, “they’ll call it the Black Death.”
So many young innocent lives lost, as the rain poured ceaselessly, much as it does today. 60 years and memories still so raw.
Had a lovely time @NortonPriory Museum & Gardens Autumn Festival today. Came away with some delicious cheeses and a bagful of quinces. Theo was a helper with the apple pressing too but not so good at croquet!
40 Hits of 1976 on the BBC is bringing back the memories of student days. So many favourites - and I remember the words!
I’ve had flu and shingles jabs today and I’m aching all over. Picked up new specs and I’m adjusting to the new prescription. Took Theo swimming - “watch me Granny without my armbands! I can sw….., glug, glug.” I’ve just collapsed in front of Sam & Ade Go Birding. And relax….
Sitting in the garden with a cup of tea to plan my day after an early morning swim. It appears that the Cosmos has gone berserk and is now eating the garden furniture.

Not shared my efforts for a while but this one was a struggle. I was a bit, shall we say… miffed?😊
Sam & Ade Go Birding. In the Yorkshire Dales too. Absolutely glorious tv. @exitthelemming
Thank you @BBCRadio3 @classicjacko and all the wonderful presenters. It’s been a memorable day. Fabulous music, interesting chat and beautiful scenery evocatively brought to life for us. #wherethelightsings
I’ve been gifted a bag of quinces to make jelly with. At the moment I’m just savouring the scent! #autumnfruits

Since its foundation in 1824 the bravery of Royal National Lifeboat Institution volunteers has saved more than 146,700 lives at sea.
Hundreds of those volunteers have died attempting to save others. They are the best of us.

A great day at the Cheshire Book Festival of Other Worlds. Authors of fantasy, sci-fi, horror and all things magical and ghostly! Ben Aaronovitch stole the show for me. More books now on my tbr pile I’m afraid!
Hello, hello, hello… A Small Copper in the garden this morning. Another newcomer to the flowerbeds. #butterflies
