Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first open weekend in far too long! Our animals were delighted to see their friends (and receive extra snacks from the many, many bags of feed, the purchase of which goes directly toward the care of our animals).
It’s our 55th birthday! On May 21, 1966, the Leonis Adobe Museum opened to restore, preserve, and share California ranch life as it was in the 19th century.

Thanks @ValleyNewsGroup for including our reopening in your latest issues of the #ValleyVantage, #CalabasasEnterprise, and #WarnerCenterNews! The team is working hard to prepare for Saturday.

Is our polish chicken looking a little… vader-esque? 🤔 We have concerns. #MayThe4thBeWithYou
Have you read this month's #Passport2History newsletter yet? We're still working on our reopening plan, but in the meantime, some of our friends in the P2H program are ready to welcome you back! conta.cc/3aZgKmc
We love seeing the talent in our community. Museum guide James Severtson painted this view of the adobe house, and we can’t get enough of how he captured the way the golden hour lighting makes our grounds glow.

Our lambs are getting so big! The male lambs like Francis here are starting to get their horns. The first two or three years are when horns grow fastest, but it's always a surprise seeing our bottle babies turn into little rams at only about two months of age!

Leon is loving the return of sunny weather. With the official start of spring just days away, we're all looking forward to warm days and spring flowers ahead!

The haybales in the barn provide Aslan the best vantage point for surveying his territory 🦁

Executive Director Diane often says horses are a lot like big dogs. Goliath confirms this in three particular ways: 1) Always prances over to greet you 👋 2) LOVES to play 🐎 3) Sloppy, wet kisses 😝
Who's the boss on this rancho? (It's Francis. Francis runs things now.)

Francis is quite a handsome boy!

The garden is ready for this year's planting, though we've had some unexpected guests enjoying the fertilizer. Fun fact: we fertilize the garden beds using manure from our own percheron horses!

The group in the barn doubled over the weekend: added to the flock are two twin boys we've named Camarillo and Clovis, and our first little lady of the season, Avalon! Camarillo and Clovis join Francis on Team Bottle Baby, keeping the museum staff well occupied! 🤪🍼

We got to welcome @razzlebamboom to the rancho recently to film episodes for their #StartWithHeart series! Educators might recognize them from their awesome assemblies at local schools. We're happy to say Puey the Pig was an excellent museum visitor! youtu.be/btuAXcL8XDY
Merry Christmas! We hope your holiday is as warm and fuzzy as our Luna girl.

We missed having our friends together for our annual winter celebration. But being physically apart doesn't mean we can't celebrate together! Miss Pat's agreed to show us how to make a holiday village. And it's all edible 🍬🍭🍦 youtu.be/FdOdHf93mlw
