The mimic octopus is a master of disguise! It is known to mimic flounders when moving in the open and may also mimic up to 13 other marine animals, including jellyfish and sea snakes. By changing its shape, color, and body posture, this crafty cephalopod keeps would-be predators guessing. Talk about taking “trick or treat” to the next level! 👻

It’s sad how people can easily decide to kill animals that are helping the ecosystem. This will backfire, guys. We need these predators to have a functioning ecosystem.

Greenland sharks (Somniosus microcephalus) live to about 400 years, and they become sexually mature at about 150 years. Culling them threatens the sharks and the marine ecosystem.

These sharks are also listed as Vulnerable (The IUCN Red List, 2019); let’s not drive them to extinction like what we’re doing with all other shark species, please (grrrrrr). Their population is already declining because they’re getting caught as bycatch!!!
