Re: Palace, think we were prepared for a fairly midtable, inconsistent season. Which on paper is what we have. Just the defending is so bad means have to work hard/be lucky to get any points, so really could very quickly get very badly. End stage Vieira in reverse.

Lot of Hobbs criticism but think we're a Disasi West Ham level and a manager setting up in a more considered way (both possible) of things being broadly fine, and then comes to Khalali looks promising, Osorio/Gozo miles too early to tell, Timber looks solid, benefit of the doubt.

Anyway someone needs to set us up to defend (Sage or otherwise), as is no future/excuses for a team of our level to be conceding 2.5 goals a game in the PL. Then we can decide how much of a dud this squad is, short and long term.

Terrific French-ing today, ordered 5 beers and the waiter felt the need to say ‘you…don’t have wine in England?’ Got the cheese for dessert, ‘you might not like it’

It does seem like there is a misunderstanding of just how integral going to the football is to English culture (which lends itself to locality). The football pyramid is the single most attended sports structure in the world by a fair distance (unless I’m missing something)

(Can combine NFL/college football and it slightly pips it, but significantly larger population). Countries have different relationships with football (and other sports), but for going to the football, English/British football really is something else.

It clearly is tainted. Over half of his managerial career has been spent at a club who have been found to have committed largescale sporting fraud. The idea he didn't know is nonsense and at best, it's a risk he took for perfect conditions to do his work.

Arbiritary best manager ever debates wise, he'd have been better off just retiring after Bayern.

Have to say the music stuff is funny. I don't really think it negatively impacts the atmosphere as much as is often suggested and if it is true that kids/families like it, then is kind of fair enough? A community club (as far as possible) does include families
Does @CEO4TAG have a good point here? A compromise seems needed. “There is sometimes a bit of frustration from the fanbase that they all have to do what (the HF) want all the time. ‘We have to sing their songs and do what they want, when they want.’ Families come and sit in other parts of the stand and stadium and they want to hear some good music.” Quote via @MattWoosie article

I really don't think whatever it is they do pre-game and a quick blast of goal music kills the atmosphere. People can still sing all game. Seems like an easy hook for other issues. Shouldn't really be embarrassed about what a club for everyone puts on for people who aren't you.

Takeover (and various subsequent/prior ones) should never have been allowed. Feels slightly strange they’ve been caught out for arrogance/greed rather than the more glaring issues and tainted 15 years of the league but 🤷. Hopefully book thrown

Loads of positives/interesting things last night. Certainly one that would have been more of an ordeal last season. Sort out the defence at PL level and we could be onto something!

Not sure any Palace player has been to two international tournaments with England either?

Not sure how the second half could manage to be even more frustrating on this note but here we are….
Has been a ridiculous amount of change and are some reality fun/promising signs. But ultimately we can’t defend and urgently need to sort that out as don’t get 6 months at a club like Palace at PL level because it worked in France.
