Thrusters allow for braking and acceleration far in excess of traction limits, cars that use them will dominate lap time records. Saying that has nothing to do with performance is just sad cope.

You did say it, but it isn't true. This is a performance car, the whole point is to accelerate, turn, and brake at a higher level of performance than a typical car.
Larger engines, better brakes, active aero etc are definitely not useless, they define the entire category.
