On June 2, 2025, Sergeant of the Guard Sgt. 1st Class Andrew Jay took his final walk as a Tomb Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. In a powerful farewell, he laid roses at each crypt of the Unknown Soldiers, then walked off the plaza hand in hand with his 8-year-old son, Finn.

The move to drop CDC's COVID vaccine rec for pregnant moms ignores the data. Kids <6 months have COVID hospitalization rates similar to 65-74 yr-olds. Maternal vaccination is their only protection.
Sensible policies to #MAHA should prioritize both the elderly and infants.

I took my son to leave some flowers on @NEStatePatrol Trooper McAcy patrol vehicle.
At the end, he asked if we could sit in the car and wait for him to come home. I explained not today, but maybe soon we will see a Trooper & can say hi. Thanks #302 for your dedication.

The Trump admin has cancelled the panels that approve NIH grants, & is banning scientists from communicating with the public, attending conferences, & hiring.

U.S. children’s vaccination rates are plummeting. Yet globally, the countries with the highest life expectancies all share one common factor: vaccination rates exceed those of the United States. We simply can’t “Make America Healthy Again” by “Making America Unvaccinated Again.”

You can say you don’t like mandates.
Or that you’re skeptical of newer mRNA vaccines.
Or that you don’t believe you’re high risk (guess what- 60%+ of US adults are).
But you can’t truthfully say COVID vaccines didn’t save lives, or “don’t work”. 🤷🏽♂️👇🏽

Emergency Management Tip for Newcomers: Build Strong Relationships
Starting a career in emergency management can be both exciting and overwhelming. One of the most valuable pieces of advice I received is to focus on building relationships. 🧵
Remember, the strength of your professional network can significantly impact your effectiveness in emergency management. Invest time in building and nurturing these relationships – it will pay off in the long run.

3.Community Trust: Establishing trust with the communities you serve is crucial. Engage with them regularly, listen to their concerns, and include them in preparedness planning.
