Feels like just yesterday Year 6 missed SATs because of COVID… and now they’re opening GCSE results tomorrow. Where has the time gone?

A mixed picture of ESOL lecturer shortages. Where’s the ESOL specialism? Is a generic PGCE enough of a qual to teach ESOL? What the entry requirements onto a lifelong PGCE? #natecla23

I’m one of those people and although it’s hard, the people living in hotels are amazing, welcoming, funny and kind. They are the best of people and the mutual aid between them is admirable and heart warming.

I can’t bear to listen to the news this last week. Working with people seeking asylum face-to-face every day, I just can’t listen to anymore anti-migrant policy. I feel absolutely worn down, so imagine how they feel.

We were proud to join 300 people in #Rotherham today to support people seeking asylum against far right threats to their safety.
We know it brought some comfort to the frightened people inside.
But it shouldn't be necessary...

Sometimes, our asylum seekers need a little boost. One asylum seeker struggled with isolation over xmas so we paid for a bus ticket so he can get out of the house and explore the local area a bit. One size doesnt fit all. Thank you to our generous monthly supporters !

A surprising number of refugees have their birthday on New Year's Day.
In parts of the world, births go unregistered. People who arrive in the UK without documents are sometimes assigned 1st of January as their birthday.
🎈Good luck in 2023!
