What would it take for Christians and Muslims to genuinely trust each other?
Because let’s be honest: we don’t.
Christians have seen the bloodshed carried out by Muslim extremists in the name of Islam. After seeing it repeatedly, some now look at an ordinary Muslim and wonder if there is a potential threat hiding underneath.
That fear may be unfair to millions of peaceful Muslims, but pretending it came from nowhere is dishonest.
Muslims, meanwhile, fear being hated, demonised or blamed for crimes they had nothing to do with.
So how do we break this cycle?
Not empty words. Not pretending the ugly parts don’t exist.
