Finally changing my phone wallpaper now that I have passed boards!! Shout out to Daniel and Lynsey from @studyrare for emphasizing imprinting disorders and embryology 😔✊🏼 ...And yes, I really was extra enough to make this wallpaper so I would see it every. single. day 😂💀

Hi genetic counselors, we are looking for someone to speak on our podcast about how parents can best prepare to talk about X-linked inheritance with their carrier or potential carrier daughters? Please reach out!
I graduated from @PittGCProgram 🎓 I am incredibly grateful @PittHUGEN recognized my work and passion in DEIJ efforts, and that I have been given the Chair's Special Award for Social Justice and Advocacy in Genetics. Thank you to everyone for all the support 🤍 #GeneChat
I passed my thesis defense 🎉 This topic is dear to my heart given my own personal experiences and path to GC. I am excited to share my work and contribute to developing the next generation of students!! #GeneChat
Two more weeks before I graduate from my GC program! Spending the night making thank-you cards to all my supervisors and mentors instead of my thesis defense slides 😌💌 #GeneChat
Enjoyed attending #PAGC the last two days to learn more about the current work and future endeavors being done in the Pennsylvania GC community. I got to catch up with some familiar faces, and meet some students from the Penn and TJU programs as well! Thank you @PennsylvaniaGC 🧬

This perspective written by a Black genetic counseling student is a MUST read! She defines "Black" and "African American", explains her frustration with how these terms are used in medicine, and provides suggestions for how to improve. Check it out:

Y'all... I am tired of being too hard on myself 😭 Absolutely do not recommend neglecting to practice self-kindness and understanding when you are supposed to be learning and making mistakes along the way in school!! bc that is an additional emotional toll on top of everything 🫠
is google calendar way better than using outlook? 😭 all other my classmates plan and schedule things using google cal but my default has always been outlook and teams
