JMO if the UIL puts in a mileage cap for hosting in the first round of the playoffs it should be for all classes....last year in 5A football we had a team travel 574 miles one way for a bi-district game #txhsfb

As we begin the summer, coaches please don't forget that the double first base is mandatory for the 2027 season. This is an UIL state adoption that supersedes the NFHS rule book.
Also make sure soon if you are hosting a tournament on city, county, private, etc. facilities, that they also have the double first base. I know we are already making sure that all of the Bryan/College Station area complexes that we use for the @leadoffclassic have them ready.
UIL sent this out to all coaches before the season and will post reminders on the website soon.

That's 3 state championships today from teams in our 2026 tourney. @LakeCreek_SB defeated White Settlement Brewer 6-5 in the 5A-D2 championship in a very close and exciting game.

Our first state championship today from a participant for our 2026 tournament is the @bullardtxsb who defeated Prosper Richland 3-0.

Congratulations to the @bh_softball Eagles on their state championship just now in 5A-D1 with an 11-0 6 inning victory. A walkoff grand slam ended the game in the bottom of the 6th.
