Congrats @LisaKursel !!
I had a lot of fun working on this story and I'm pleased to see it now published. A pleasure as always to work with @TheRogLab and congrats to undergrad Jesus on his first publication 🎉
See quoted tweet for a link to the paper and a taste of our findings 🙂
Congratulations Adele @Marston_lab !! 👩🔬🧪🌟
🏅Thrilled to announce that Prof Adele Marston @Marston_lab, has been awarded the 2024 Mary Lyon Medal. This award recognises outstanding research in genetics to scientists who are in the middle of their research career.

Check out our work on phosphorylation dynamics during the meiotic divisions 👩🔬🧪
Delighted to share Lori Koch’s @lbkoch9 tour-de-force phosphoproteomics of the meiotic divisions. She reports dynamics for thousands of phosphosites and shows that Spo13/Meikin directs Polo kinase to substrates with a novel motif. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
Very proud of my partner Nitobe, who is a formidable biochemist!! 🤓🧑🔬🧪

I’m so excited to share our reconstitution system where we saw individual yeast kinetochores on yeast microtubules. But that’s not all, these kinetochores MOVE! We found the kinesin-8, Kip3, moves kinetochores towards the plus-end of the microtubule biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Excited to see this out in @eLife . Many congratulations to Rachael, Lucia and Dan. Thanks to the reviewers and editors for a positive experience. Chromatin loops are really important for meiosis!

Many thanks to my co-authors and especially to @SueBiggins and Chip for their excellent mentorship!
Work from the @SueBiggins and Asbury labs shows that Mps1 phosphorylates the Ndc80 kinetochore protein to regulate the strength of #kinetochore-#microtubule attachments. This phosphorylation contributes to mitotic error correction in cells. bit.ly/2XfUl0y
