Congratulations to Lexington for being the first MBTA Community to adopt multifamily zoning by right! And, Town Meeting adopted it 1 1/2 years ahead of their deadline! Thank you, Lexington, for allowing more homes that people need. lexingtonma.gov/DocumentCent… @CHAPAdotorg

I'm voting yes on the amendment because I worked on it and put my name on it (along with 12 other TMMs) as a political compromise. If the amendment fails I'm voting yes on the original motion.

Proposed bylaw is here and is known as Article 34: lexingtonma.gov/DocumentCent… There is a substitute motion amendment that adds a "height buffer" for bldgs within 100' of a residential property line, removes some areas, and adds special permit req to others : lexingtonma.gov/DocumentCent…

I’m a #LexingtonMA town meeting member and we’re scheduled to vote on our #mbta communities zoning bylaw this Monday. #AMA

There’s no FAR or any of the other dimension controls that DHCD forbids. Analysis of the proposed bylaw using the (simplistic) MBTA-C compliance model suggests 57 units/acre. Parcel selection is admittedly weak as far as immediate development potential.
