ALT doug perches on a patio sofa as a majestic sunset transpires behind him. the sky is blue in the upper right corner, fading through pinkish orange clouds to a yellow horizon. radiant beams of sunlight shine up through the clouds behind his wonky ear, giving doug an angelic glow behind his glorious face.
ALT senior german shepherd doug lies calmly on his elevated red bed on his patio. his human matt, wearing a cream-colored hoodie and shorts, kneels next to doug and bends over to hold him in a loving embrace. matt’s eyes are closed, and doug’s face is buried in the crook of matt’s arm.
ALT a small collection of doug memories on a glass table. his large black collar encircles a tennis ball that has been chewed and loved almost beyond recognition. his gold bone-shaped tag has “DOUG” stamped in the middle of a nighttime forest scene. a corresponding silver tag has a pawprint in the middle and a circle around the edge that reads “The Dougfather.” at the bottom of the memorial are three instant photos of Doug throughout his life: one with taylor hugging his face close while matt smiles on the other side, one with doug wearing a big smile on a patio, and one with doug lying on a bedroom floor with matt sitting proudly behind him.
