i'm Dejan. ex-PM, now building Pawloor dog beds with my wife in Prague.
here i share what really happens when you sell a physical product in the EU: suppliers, samples, shipping mistakes, pricing.
plus how i use AI every day to run it. sometimes dad life.
follow if you're building something real
shipping lesson from selling dog beds across the EU: read the courier packing rules before the first parcel, not after. i taped two boxes together into one parcel to Lithuania. DPD counts that as an atypical parcel, so 453 Kc shipping came with a 990 Kc extra fee.
you can apply here anysphere.typeform.com/to/Ln… there will be email blast to everyone on this list once applications open again.
guy from near florence ordered our Persian bed in august, that order got cancelled. 10 days later he came back and ordered the Nomad instead. now his dog Greg has a new favourite spot. second chances are real in ecommerce
looking to connect with people building actual physical products
shopify / dtc, suppliers, factories, shipping, returns, stock that wont sell, all the boring stuff nobody posts about
doesnt matter what you make. say hi, i reply to everyone
Elon made everyone start making EVs now they will have to start making flying cars. Good luck with that.
Marc is a living proof distribution is EVERYTHING, at this point WHATEVER he ships will bring money. There is so much we all can learn from him.
My new startup is profitable from day 1 🥳🎉
I have no investors to please, so I won't raise prices every few months.

I run Pawloor, a small Czech dog-bed brand. This week I designed our first bed with bolsters and Opus 5.5 did the geometry with me.
Here's what we built 🧵
And a layer-by-layer animation of our flagship bed: memory foam on HR foam, an inner cover with hollow-fibre tunnels, the top cover.
The bolster version has no fibre under the sides, so they sit firm.
