The older I get, the more I understand why our parents used to say; Save your money. They saw something we didn't see.

🚨 START SMALL, EVEN IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF CAPITAL. Having money to start a business doesn’t automatically mean you understand the business. You might have ₦10M in capital but if you have never operated in that industry, you still have a lot to learn. Instead of investing the entire amount immediately, test your idea on a smaller scale. β€’ Start with a manageable quantity of stock. β€’ Test whether people are actually willing to pay for your product. β€’ Understand your operating costs. β€’ Learn what your customers want. β€’ Track your numbers and improve your systems before expanding. This way, you are not risking all your capital while you are still figuring things out.

To every young person my message to you is; Start Have a roadmap Find the right partners And when you get the opportunity, create one for someone else.” Start with what you have, build with purpose and surround yourself with the right partners. Do not stop at your own success. When you have the opportunity, create opportunities for others to thrive. - Tony O. Elumelu CFR

This evening, my staff gathered to appreciate me. I was wondering what was going on until they explained that they came to thank me for providing food for them. I have always bought food for my staff, although not regularly. Sometimes, I cook from home and bring food to the office for everyone. Last month, I decided to take things a step further by setting up a kitchen at the office where my staff can cook and eat. I bought a gas cooker, pots and everything needed to make cooking convenient. Since we already have a big freezer, I told them we would be cooking soups in bulk and storing them in the freezer so everyone could eat whenever they wanted. On weekends, they can prepare other meals like rice, beans and whatever they feel like eating. I believe this is another way I can support my staff beyond their salaries, bonuses and other incentives. Today, we officially started our cooking, and I joined them to eat. I specifically requested for the Afang and my God, that soup banged. We finished a big pot of soup, and everyone was so happy. You need to see the loads of fufu my people ate today πŸ˜‚ Seeing their happiness really made me happy too. The only thing I asked of them was to keep praying for the growth of this brand because when the business is doing well, the blessings should reflect on everyone working hard to build it. I will continue providing the funds for their meals. It’s the least I can do for people who dedicate their time and energy to helping me build my dream. I don’t want to build a successful brand while the people helping me build it are struggling. May God continue to bless the works of our hands. ❀️

My opinions about some foods /food combos : β€’ Beans and pap is mid β€’ Moimoi over Akara β€’ Fried rice is overrated β€’ Jollof rice over asun rice β€’ Ggbegiri is extremely mid β€’ Amala has no business with efo or egusi β€’ Yam over potatoes β€’ Eba is just there. Not overrated nor underrated β€’ Spaghettini over spaghetti β€’You’re a bad vibe if you hate semo, plantain, oats , macaroni and avocado Which of these do you agree with? You can add yours in the comments πŸ€—

During my mum’s funeral, we contacted her friend who is a local chef. She was with us throughout the mourning period so we felt it will be wrong to give out the job when we are sure she will do a good job. We told her the number of canopies and people we were expecting, she gave us her quotation and fee which we accepted. On the burial day, the food did not go round and people were complaining. She kept insisting that the food is finished after all, how much did we pay for the food. It was surprising because she was the one who gave is the quotation. Tell me why my sister found one cooler of meat and two coolers of jollof rice in her car booth? She actually went to her car to collect water and saw it, we confronted her and she said that is how it’s suppose to be, the caterer is entitled to that and it’s not stealing. We refused to escalate that issue because our families has always been close and she was my mother’s friend but I lost my respect for her that day.
Those local chefs that cook for big occasions in the villages need proper sensitization! You charged someone 180k to cook for his event. You also wrote out the list of ingredients he needed to buy, which he did. Tell me why you want take the remaining ingredients after you finished cooking? Even after they gave you and your crew large portions of the food you cooked?
