After out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest, a higher mean arterial pressure increases oxygen delivery but has a smaller effect on oxygen consumption. Focus on blood pressure may improve patient outcomes. #AHAJournals @laustemil @DoktorMeyer @JohannesGrand ahajrnls.org/4e9yoS5

🚑 Exciting STEROHCA results! 📊 Prehospital high-dose glucocorticoid treatment significantly reduces norepinephrine use in comatose OHCA patients (p = 0.02). 📈 Additionally, the glucocorticoid group exhibited higher MAP and lower VIS/MAP ratio.

🔥Giving steroids after #OHCA? Pathophysiology of post-CA syndrome features I/R injury & release of high levels of inflammatory cytokines. It would make sense to provide anti-inflammatory agents early after ROSC

Great editorial just published in Intensive Care Medicine, @yourICM, about the use of steroids after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
This ensuing discussion is important in the aftermath of our recently published findings in the STEROHCA trial.

WHAT A #MILESTONE!!
After JUST 11 months - today the last patient was randomized in the PULSE-MI trial! 🫀🚑
The last FU will be completed in January 2024! ✅

Does prehospital administration of pulse-dose methylprednisone reduce final infarct size in #STEMIpatients? The #RCT have been running for almost 2 months and we have included 155 patients. Now, the first patients are being called in for the 3-months follow-up #CMR🫀@RigsHeart

1 month=76 patients included!😮
This setup is a logistic challenge but it works!! All the ambulance staff in @RegionH and @regionsjaelland, and the doctors at @Rigshospitalet are doing an amazing job including patients every day! We have now included 19% of the patients! 🫀 👏
