Man, I love Vegas shows that make no real life sense. This week, on “Secret Life of a Vegas Casino”, they go for some ancient B-roll footage… (1/3)

The VIP guest lugs around his own luggage, never gets the car door opened for him, and somehow buys booze at XO Liquor in Chinatown yet it comes in an ABC Store bag… (2/3)

And, bonus, the Fertitta family’s photos are on the wall of the security room like the FBI’s most wanted at the post office. Seriously, I’ve missed having terrible-yet-entertaining shows like this. (3/3)

Just an FYI on how Sphere works... These dates were ALWAYS planned, but ticket sales needed to dictate the math. That is why EVERY Sphere residency gets added dates. Basically, as an artist, you are paying an exorbitant rental fee to Sphere because it makes so much money on movies. There is no discount for load-in and load-out. Also, you are responsible for producing the visuals (which Sphere can veto). So the way it works is this: 1) Your first string of dates have to be limited enough to cause a sell-out. These dates pay for the Sphere fees and your production. Then based on the demand you saw from your first release, you trigger the soft holds on the new dates. 2) The new dates are actually where you make your money on the residency. Here's the math. Sphere is about $2M a night to rent because you have to make them more money than they make with Oz or other films. Visuals for a 2 hour show are going to cost you between $5-8M. Add another $2-5M for various other production costs. An act like John Mayer is probably pulling in $5-6M a night. So the first 6 nights are gonna cost you around $22-25M in costs for $30-36M in revenue. But then after that, you are looking at $3-4M in revenue per night for sold out shows, if the demand is there. Either way, Sphere makes it's money. Which makes me happy, because my Sphere stock is up 120% since I bought it.
DUE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND, 6 additional John Mayer shows have been added at Sphere! April 28, April 30, May 1 May 5, May 7, May 8 Artist Presale registration for the newly announced dates is available now at JohnMayer.com. Fans who previously registered can access tickets for all dates now. Tickets for all dates go on sale to the general public on Fri, Oct 9 starting at 10am PT. Please note on sale start times will be staggered depending on show date.

Where some see confusion, where some see reason for concern, others see opportunity.
The videos of the Linq parking deck basement and surrounding roads flooding during big storms as it is designed to do confuses some who don't know any better.

I'm booking a 2-night solo trip between NFR and Christmas (highlight: @DebbieGibson at Strat). All-in hotel rates (shown with MGM's $50 F&B discounts) are wildly out of step vis-a-vis hotel quality. I'm a cheapskate, but even on a solo trip I'll spend $10 more a night on Cosmo.

I deleted my tweets calling out @southpointlv for their AI image manipulation. It seems most likely that their photographer didn't turn off the crappy automatic AI upscaling on their camera phone and this was the result. Not deliberately misleading, just crappy work.

I'm not sure why people are blaming the Zoox here. It looks like an obvious rear-ending to me. Nissan's impact into the back of the Zoox might have rotated the back end a bit. Maybe it's that folks are confusing the front and back of the Zoox.
FOX5 TRAFFIC ALERT: Las Vegas police are investigating a Friday morning crash involving a Zoox autonomous vehicle near Las Vegas Boulevard and Four Seasons Drive. The right lane is currently blocked in the area as authorities respond. Drivers should expect delays near the south end of the Strip. Details: fox5vegas.com/2026/09/25/pol…

It was a fairly good guess on my part… except when the Zoox got confused and was puttering through the intersection before it got rear ended. Video:
I didn't know what a @zoox was until now when a distracted driver crashed into one that was apparently malfunctioning in rush hour traffic in Las Vegas today. @CityofLasVegas. @LasVegasFD @LVMP

Back to the Future: "Present Time" in 1955 minus Doc's "Destination Time" in 1885 = 25,881 days. "Present Time" in 1955 plus 25,881 days = September 21, 2026. 1955 ⬅️ Old West = 1955 ➡️ today. November 12, 1955 was the midpoint between now and January 1, 1885. Great Scott!

The Churchill Downs paddock show says six jockeys were thrown in race 2: three were taken to the hospital, one more pulled himself from the rest of today's card. Francisco Arrieta is skipping race 3. Axel Concepcion will continue in race 3. No word on horse injuries yet.
Does anyone have any updates about horses jockeys or riders at Churchill just keep hoping and praying for good news. I'm not there so just checking the phone and hoping

Waymo is live in Vegas. According to Reddit user u/O1O1O1O, this is the map of the service area, including the strip up to Sahara. Let's see Waymo and Zoox compete on price.

I tested it remotely. It's live in Vegas, but only for those with an early access code. Soon, though, I hope.
