Free trials are significantly better than freemiums for getting conversions. A freemium model (giving a free tier) doesn't allow the users to fully grasp the utility of your software, which is why conversions are so low. They always stay on the free plan. Y combinator's CEO said that SaaS is dead. I call BS. Here's a rapid fire list of why : 1. 99 % of the average human population still uses AI as a glorified search engine and doesn't know the difference between Claude Code and Claude Cowork. I don't expect that to change soon. 2. People's time is not free. I don't ever seen someone spending weeks creating a perfectly UI UX friendly tool just for their own use. Humans are lazy. 3. Building is the easy part. What about bugs, securing data and keeping is running for years. Just a short list. Maybe I'm bitter lol.
