It took nearly 18 months, but here it is! A step by step guide to designing REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and Async APIs. I’m so thankful to @VaughnVernon for the opportunity to pull together over a decade of API coaching into a single resource

Find a partner that will hold on to you like Guilfoyle holds on to an ambassadorship to Greece
White House has asked US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign, @PressSec Katie Zacharia tells us. Guilfoyle in last couple days has been reluctant to do so, I'm told.

Me: Claude, create the most inefficient way to learn about something.
Claude: Sure, I’ll create a podcast with two artificial hosts that spend 15 minutes bantering about something you could read and digest in 2 minutes.
Me: Great. Make no mistakes
When you build a business like Crumbl that makes IHOP look like a healthy choice, it won't last long.
If they would focus on a few specialty cookies and then deliver outstanding cookies that have clean ingredients and amazing taste that takes you back to childhood, they would perform better.
However, the margins would be far lower. That's why they aren't winning long term. It was a business build for short term gains
In the last month, I've read two pre-release books around the same subject matter.
Both say the same thing.
Both have the same AI slop diagrams.
Use AI for ideation, not the final product.
You build what you know. In this case, it's reservation systems. The challenge is that everyone else around the CEO knows the same thing from a consumer perspective.
If you are an experienced developer or PM with deep domain experience, you have a distinct advantage. In this case, you know how restaurants work, not just how being a customer works. That's the unfair advantage
Instinct CEO Noah Shinn says agents will let restaurants give tables to birthdays and anniversaries over whoever clicks first
"And traditionally, because of the way that the internet has worked, at least for reservations, it's been first come first serve. So anyone that comes in, no matter how important or how not important it might be, whoever gets in first gets the reservation."
"But what if you had the ability for the agent to be able to communicate on both sides, communicate, hey, this is important. This is actually the person's spouse's birthday, the 30th birthday, a very special event is coming up."
"And the restaurant too can say, let's actually prioritize birthdays or major decade birthdays or major anniversaries or these certain people, I don't know, whatever it might be, right?"
"So now with the ability, with all of the logistical burden of having to describe exactly what your case is and what's happening and why it's important. Now we have the ability to perfectly match what does the restaurant want? What does the user want?"
"And that will result in more special events for the users being able to actually have a spot in the restaurant."
