昨日のマンボウが好評でしたので、本日も風変わりな魚の絵をご紹介。同じく服部雪斎が描いたシビレエイです。明治5年の博覧会で刊行されたもの。「他ノ侵襲ヲ受ル時ハ電気ヲ発シ以テ其身ヲ護ル、故ニ人モ触ルル時ハ痙攣性ノ震慄ヲ覚フ」とシビレエイの電気について解説しています。＃おうちで浮世絵

ちなみに、河鍋暁斎は同じく『暁斎画談　内篇』にて、こんな絵も描いています。体全体の骨格、あるいは筋肉の構造といった、暁斎の美術解剖学への興味が見て取れます。（こちらの作品は現在展示しておりません。）
