From Breadwinner to Broke Post 2: The Great American Pay Cut "One Wage Cut. A Nation’s Fall." Wage suppression didn’t just hurt the lowest rung of the ladder- it broke the whole thing. Since 1979, worker compensation has flatlined while productivity has soared. Before that, for every 1% increase in what workers produced, they saw about 1% more in their paychecks. After 1979, productivity continued climbing- but wages were left behind. The reason? America changed the rules. Trade deals like NAFTA and China’s WTO admission opened the floodgates to offshoring. At the same time, immigration policy shifted dramatically: instead of protecting American wages, it began importing millions of workers willing to accept less. This wasn’t an accident. It was a strategy: Illegals hold down wages in agriculture, hospitality, and construction. This sets the floor that white collar jobs start from. H-1Bs suppress middle-class wages in tech, healthcare, and finance. OPT students work without payroll taxes, undercutting entry-level U.S. grads. Wages didn’t just stop rising, they were forcibly suppressed to maximize profits for corporations and our politicians accepted bribes to do it. From 1948–1979: Productivity grew 2.5% annually Compensation grew 2.1% From 1979–2025 (projected): Productivity grew 1.4% Compensation grew just 0.6% This is theft by spreadsheet. A $5 difference per hour times millions of workers over years becomes billions funneled upward. That’s how the 1% got rich while the middle class got squeezed. Next time someone says “wages are rising,” show them the facts. Rubbish. Understand there are extremely low standards when it comes to where those degrees are obtained. In addition, H-1Bs are handed out by chance, in a lottery. It doesn't matter if the applicant had a B-Tech degree or a PhD from India Institute of Technology. Moreover, each year 20,000 H-1Bs are set aside for foreigners who attained a master's degree or higher from a U.S. institution. This has created a huge demand for foreigners (the largest population of foreign students in the U.S. come from India.) to enroll in advance degree programs in the U.S. Our universities love this because the foreign students pay out-of-state tuition and to accommodate them, these colleges have created poor quality master's programs - specifically for foreign students to get work permits. The knock on effects are proving to be catastrophic for our insitutions of higher learning. For instance: ✔️ Universites love this set up because they view foreign graduate students as cheap labor and prefer to hire them rather than Americans. ✔️ Science and math jobs have gotten worse over the last thirty-five years because of legal immigration and guest workers. ✔️ It has led to over-credentialization for jobs. In the workplace this has led to the replacement of competence with proxy. ✔️ It has hollowed out learning because curriculum is now optimized for the credential while practical, tacit and apprenticeship-style knowledge loses status. ✔️ Foreign students are 5X more likely to cheat than Americans. ✔️ American student classroom experience drops when foreign students reach 30 - 80% of the class. ✔️ U.S. colleges are now actively scouting abroad rather than for Americans. In the end, all these employment visas have done is depress the wages and deny employment opportunities for our college graduates.
H-1B is the visa US employers use to hire skilled workers from abroad. Workers approved in the FY2021–24 lotteries were far more credentialed than the US workforce overall: 58 percent held a master's degree or higher, compared with 14 percent of US native-born and 15 percent of total foreign-born in the US. Most earned those degrees here — 71 percent of master's-and-higher petitions went to someone already in the US on a student visa. Hoover Policy Fellow Sarah Alla @Iagudaeva has the full analysis of what these workers studied and where they ended up working: hoover.org/research/h-1b-wor…

WSJ: A Princeton PhD in chemical engineering applied to 2,300 jobs, ranging from postdoctoral fellowships to corporate science jobs and software engineering positions. He still hasn’t found a job. 34% of Americans surveyed by Gallup in August said it was a good time to find a quality job. Meanwhile, Congress is fixated on finding a way to pass a bill that staples green cards to any international student who earns a PhD in the United States. We should start by asking why our own graduates can’t find jobs before importing more workers.

The only proper response is righteous fury. We inherited a glorious civilization that took hundreds of years of toil and struggle to build. And it will either self-immolate by importing masses of unassimilable barbarians. Or we can take it back. I choose the latter.
It was beautiful. 150 years old. Burnt to the ground by barbarians.

Only one branch has touched H-1B. The executive branch. The other two have sat on their asses with no intention of doing anything against their lobbyists. Trump's people put a six-figure fee on new petitions. They opened fraud cases. They walked into empty offices that were supposed to hold hundreds of visa workers. Yesterday they froze PERM for Microsoft, Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini. No new green-card filings. No pending ones either. Vance stood up and said no company abused the system more than Microsoft. Fines, suspensions, investigations. That is action. It is a temporary measure though. Subjective. A blue house can pull their funding. An executive order depends on who the POTUS is. Congress has held hearings. Congress has written bills. Congress has put names on press releases. A bill is not a law. Schoolhouse Rock laid that out in a song most of us can still hum. The scroll does not become law because a senator is angry on television. It becomes law when both chambers pass the same text and it gets signed. That has not happened. The cap is still the cap. The body-shop model is still legal until someone rewrites it. They have not rewritten it. The courts do not write the visa statute either. They can block a fee, slow a rule, or send a case back. They cannot decide that American graduates get the seat. That decision sits with the people who will not take the vote. So when someone tells you the Senate is "working on H-1B," ask for the public law number. If they do not have one, they have a draft and a donor lunch while assuring their Chamber of Commerce and ITServe Alliance lobby its all talk and no action. The executive branch moved because the legislative branch would not. Temporary rules can be undone by the next administration. A statute is harder to wipe. They know that. That is why the bill stays a bill.

Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen. I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn. And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.

Just how deep is the corrupt plan? Entry-level work is the first rung. Whether you have a college education or are a fresh grad our of high school. H-1B and illegal labor both are getting first shot at those jobs. The H-1B is sold as a shortage of skilled people- yet unemployment for the same jobs has never been recorded this high. A lot of the actual placements are in roles a new graduate can do, or in staffing shops that recycle the same bodies. Illegal labor hits the other end: plants, kitchens, construction, warehouses, the jobs that used to be the first paycheck. When both doors are shut by foreign labor, the American who just finished school or just turned eighteen has fewer places to start. A person with no first job does three things. They stay home longer. They take whatever aid is offered. They start to believe the system does not want them. That person becomes a vote for the party that promises the next benefit and a hard vote against the party that talks about work. You do not need a conspiracy for that. You need employers who prefer a worker who cannot quit, politicians who prefer a donor who likes the foreign labor pipeline, and a young voter who has never had a reason to defend the labor market. The youth piece is the sharp one. An H-1B in a junior role is not filling a gap a twenty-two-year-old American could not close. It is closing the gap before the American gets there. Same with the plant that lays off the line and rehires at a lower rate with people who should not have been in the building. The result is the same. Fewer Americans with a stake in the private economy. More Americans who experience government benefits as the only thing that can help them. Call it a plan if you want. Call it a side effect that nobody in the loop has a reason to stop. The test is the same. Name the bill that puts the American graduate or the American kid first in the entry-level seat. There is not one that has passed. The shortage talk continues. The placements continue. The assistance talk gets louder every cycle the jobs stay closed. This is the plan that everyone benefits from...except the American worker.

AMAZON CUT AT LEAST 17,379 JOBS THIS YEAR. IT ALSO LEADS THE COUNTRY IN OPT STUDENTS. IT ALSO LEADS THE COUNTRY IN CPT STUDENTS. IT ALSO LEADS THE COUNTRY IN H-1B FILINGS. My lord. ICE's 2024 Top 200 list has Amazon at #1 with 10,167 OPT and STEM OPT students. Google was the next company at 2,454. Amazon was #1 for CPT too, with 3,205 students. On October 23, Amazon professionals will run free mock interviews for international students through One To World. The group calls it a series. OPT exists by regulation. Congress never created it. It has no annual cap and no lottery. A company that needs fewer people should not be first in line for student work permits @USLaborIG
Amazon is laying off American workers while a staffing contractor working at Amazon is helping international students find jobs with visa sponsorship. On October 23, One To World is hosting a virtual event to coach international students on interviewing, networking, and navigating the U.S. job market. The event contact works for Insight Global and is contracted to Amazon. Amazon ranked #1 on the federal government’s 2024 OPT/STEM-OPT employer list with 10,167 reported participations. Insight Global, a major staffing company, also made the first page of the list of OPT employers with 497. Its certified H-1B labor applications also surged from 16 in 2022 to 399 in 2026. The event even includes instructions saying international students should not be referred to as “migrants.” So while American tech workers are being laid off, a staffing contractor embedded at Amazon is helping foreign students prepare to compete for American jobs. Who’s organizing mock interviews and visa-free career pipelines for the Americans being replaced?

Dear Secretary Bessent @SecScottBessent, On October 14th I wrote to you about Bank of America @BankofAmerica. You did not answer. 3.6 million Americans did. I want to tell you what that looked like from where I sit, because I do not think Washington understands it yet. The messages did not come from one side. They came from Republicans and Democrats, from veterans and nurses and small business owners, from people who have not agreed with each other about anything in a decade. They all said a version of the same sentence. We have had enough. That is what a national security issue looks like when it finally breaks through. It does not pick a party. It belongs to everyone who has a kid, a bank account, or a flag on the porch. So let me be plain about my concern. I am worried that nothing is going to happen. The fine has been announced. The press cycle is already turning. In a few weeks the number will be forgotten and the bank will be back to business. I have watched this exact sequence play out before, and I am writing to you now, while there is still a window, because once that window closes it does not reopen. I am also widening this letter, because Treasury does not act alone. To the Department of Justice @TheJusticeDept and to FBI Director Kash Patel @FBIDirectorKash: Director Patel, you were not in the chair when this happened, so I want you to hear it from me directly. In 2011 I walked into the FBI with everything I had on HSBC. Not a tip. Boxes. Names, account numbers, transaction records, internal emails. Agents worked that evidence for over a year. I trusted them, and I still believe they wanted to do their jobs. Then the settlement was announced. $1.9 billion. I called the agents and asked the only question that mattered. When do you raid the building and when are the arrests? Their answer was four words. Our hands are tied. I have thought about those four words every day since. Not because the agents failed me. Because somebody above them decided that a bank was too important to treat like a defendant. That decision was made quietly, by people whose names I will never know, and it has been made again every time since. Director Patel, you now have the authority to make a different one. I remember the words carved into the stone outside the federal building in Philadelphia the day I walked in to report @HSBC: justice is the defense of our liberty. I believed that. I still want to. But a justice system that handcuffs a dealer on the corner and sends a bank a bill is not defending anyone’s liberty. It is choosing whose liberty counts. To Brian Moynihan, Chief Executive Officer of Bank of America @BankofAmerica: Mr. Moynihan, your bank just agreed to pay $1.2 billion for failures that regulators called willful. I have a few questions, and the 3.6 million people reading this would like the answers too. Who was fired? Not reassigned. Not retired early with a package. Fired, by name, for the conduct the government described. What has actually changed in your anti money laundering program? Not the budget line. Not the consultant’s slide deck. What is different today about how an alert gets cleared and who is allowed to say stop? Were there any consequences inside the building at all? Or did this land the way it landed at HSBC bank, as a line item? And how much is your bonus this year? I ask because I know what it costs a compliance officer to raise his hand inside a bank like yours. I would like to know what it cost anyone at the top. Do you even care? I am asking sincerely. I would like to be wrong. Here is what I did about all of this, and why it matters to this letter. After the government declined to help me or any of the whistleblowers I have met since, I built the thing I wished had existed. Tactical Rabbit is a private intelligence agency. We find the truth, we prove it, and we put it in the hands of people who will act on it. I made a decision a long time ago that if the government would not stop the next HSBC, I would. So to anyone inside a bank reading this who is looking at something they know is wrong: if your bank will not act, and the government will not act, come to me. I will get the truth to the public. That is not a threat. It is a promise I have already kept once. Mr. Secretary, Director Patel, the Department of Justice, and Mr. Moynihan: four addresses, one question. Will anyone be held accountable? Not fined. Not suspended. Not asked to attend training. Accountable. Please end the cycle of too big to jail. I will not stop until there is change, and neither will the millions of Americans standing behind this letter. Answer them. We need a banker in jail. Everett A. Stern HSBC Whistleblower Founder, Tactical Rabbit

Keep the pressure up. In this instance, the injured parties received the back pay that would have gone to them had they been hired. @Sonderling47 's DOL should require every PERM position to appear on a centralized, publicly accessible digital platform for at least 30 days, with standardized job information and electronic résumé submissions. Moreover, employers should maintain and disclose records on valid reasons explaining why each American applicant was rejected. Lastly, the 180-day six-month PERM freeze if a layoff does occur should be expanded to a year.

Why was it not revoked? Now, even the H1B visa for this fraudster has been approved and still has not been revoked. How many cases like this are still there and not revoked?

We already saw a preview with the Hyundai battery plant raid in Georgia: 475 illegal workers were arrested in DHS's largest single-site operation ever GO INTO THE COMPANIES. Arizona resident Christina Marie Chapman ran a “laptop farm” to help North Korean information technology workers infiltrate American tech companies. Chapman lives in a suburb of Phoenix, AZ and set up a large number of internet-connected laptops in her home as part of a complex scheme arranged with a Ukrainian coconspirator living in Poland and at least three North Koreans. Oleksandr Didenko ran a website called UpworkSell.com (now seized by the FBI) which set up fake profiles on IT job search sites using stolen American identities, along with US-based money service transmitters. Didenko sold access to foreign workers who could then apply for US-based remote work positions without the knowledge of the employer. Besides Chapman, Didenko worked with at least three other laptop farms spread throughout the United States. Chapman’s laptop farm allowed her to log into work accounts and then provide remote access to the foreign workers, including the North Koreans. Together, the group used identities stolen from at least 60 US citizens to gain remote IT jobs at over 300 US companies. She earned more than $176,000 for her role in the scheme over a two-year period. These remote jobs generated nearly $7,000,000 in income which was funneled back to North Korea. The NK government has used a wide variety of criminal activities in other countries over the years to generate funds for the cash-strapped nation. In July 2025, Chapman was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison. Didenko was arrested by authorities in Poland and extradited to the US for trial. On February 19th, 2026, he was sentenced to five years in prison on charges of wire fraud conspiracy and aggravated identity theft. The Department of State’s Rewards for Justice program is currently offering up to $5,000,000 for information on North Korean IT workers and related money laundering. For episode 219 of the Spycraft 101 podcast I spoke with Aiden Raney about the threat posed to US companies and infrastructure by North Korean hackers and remote workers.
