Basketball in Australia is entering a new era. I started watching because my kids were playing, am now a genuine fan from local to NBL.11,746 people at a game is legit fandom. The Chicago Bulls average 20,881 per game, Qudos has a capacity of 21k, not bad Sydney! Not bad at all!

PACKING THE Q 👏🏽👏🏽 For the last seven home games we have averaged 11,746 people at Qudos Bank Arena. Our best ever average crowd over a seven-game home stretch in franchise history. Thank you Sydney. #WeTheKings

Credit where credit is due. The @FIBAWWC ended three days ago and the team at @PickandRollAU have continued to support/post, write and educate about the @aus_opals and their🥉 achievements every day since. No bandwagons here, pure support for basketball in Australia 👏 👏 👏

Breanna Stewart: "This has to be one of the best atmospheres I've played in.... The biggest thing from this is you can't say people don't support women's basketball... there was a lot of people cheering for us, cheering against us, but they're here watching women's basketball."

Feel like this needs to be said: For anyone who loved watching the Opals at the #FIBAWWC, STAY INVOLVED & let’s carry this momentum into the upcoming @WNBL season! Jackson, Whitcomb, Talbot, Blicavs, George, Madgen, Wallace are all suiting up, so get to games & enjoy the show!

Anyone else get distracted by basketball fashion?!? This week it was the sequins and haircut of the Serbian FIBA WWC coach….. tonight i am distracted by Chase Buford’s awesome jacket, Walton Jr’s shoes and Mathiang’s epic hair……the game is giving me a heart attack…. #NBL

Proud to have played a small part on the @FIBAWWC Organising Committee for the past year. Big congrats to the team behind the event as well as my hubby @stu_thom who skipped Yr 12 formals to officiate on stats. And niece Molly who bought the players on court. A big family event!
